Many Spanish shops produced copies of the Model 10. Like the [[Ruby Pistol]] these were purchased in large numbers by France (in the [[Mle 1892 Revolver]]'s 8x27mm SR cartridge) during World War I to address a handgun shortage. As with all Spanish production from this period, the exact details vary wildly between examples and shop, though the hammer is often an obvious external difference from a proper Model 10. These copies most often appear in European made movies, though interwar sales to the US and elsewhere mean they could potentially show up anywhere.

Orbea Revolver 1892 Espagnol - 8 x 27mm M1892. This Spanish-manufactured clone of M&P revolver was widely used by French army during WW1.

The Smith & Wesson Model 10 is a classic police revolver used by police and military on most continents from the early 1900's until this day. It uses the K-frame size, like the Smith & Wesson Model 15 and Model 19. Earlier versions, including the forerunner model of 1899 up until 1960, had thin barrels and a rounded front sight. Early versions were chambered in .38 Long Colt/.38 Special and occasionally .32-20 WCF. WWII models (Smith & Wesson Victory Model) were also chambered in .38 Smith & Wesson for the British Commonwealth. From 1960 until today it was fitted with a heavier barrel and ramped front sight. Barrels came in 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6-inch versions. There was also a special run of the Model 10 with a 2.5" Heavy Barrel made for the Michigan State Police in the 1970's. Formerly known as the "Military and Police" (M&P), the Smith & Wesson Model 10 is the most successful police revolver in history and can be seen in countless movies. As of 2000 over six million M&P/Model 10's had been manufactured by Smith & Wesson. According to the FBI, the Model 10 is the most purchased handgun in the US.

Many Spanish shops produced copies of the Model 10. Like the Ruby Pistol these were purchased in large numbers by France (in the Mle 1892 Revolver's 8x27mm SR cartridge) during World War I to address a handgun shortage. As with all Spanish production from this period, the exact details vary wildly between examples and shop, though the hammer is often an obvious external difference from a proper Model 10. These copies most often appear in European made movies, though interwar sales to the US and elsewhere mean they could potentially show up anywhere.
