MGL
The MGL (Multiple Grenade Launcher) was developed in 1981 by Milkor for the SADF (South African Defence Force). Shortly after its introduction, the MGL was adopted by the armed forces of various other countries.

MGL Mk 1S
The MGL Mk 1S is the first improved variant of the MGL, featuring a stainless steel body, a redesigned trigger unit, and Picatinny accessory rails around the forend. Just like the original MGL, the MGL Mk 1S has a 105mm long cylinder, hence this it is also known as MGL-105. It was introduced in 2004 by Milkor USA.

MGL Mk 1L
The MGL Mk 1L has a longer, 140mm cylinder to fit special-purpose grenades such as various tear gas grenades or less-than lethal impact rounds. It is also known as MGL-140. The USMC designation of this variant is M32 MGL or M32 MSGL.

Mark 14 / M32A1
The Mark 14 is a special variant of the MGL Mk 1L, developed for the USSOCOM. It has a 8" barrel and 140mm long cylinder. The USMC has designated the weapon as the M32A1.
