I believe the bolt-action rifle Castro uses is not a Model 70, but a sporterized M1917 Enfield rifle, or the Remington Model 30, an inter-war commercial variant. The distinctive kinked bolt handle is the biggest clue. The rear sight protector ears were often ground down during sporterizing.--Stomper 18:19, 21 June 2012 (CDT)
- I concur about it being a so modified M1917 Rifle - the bolt style indeed is a good indicator. Would also make sense they'd use a sporterized former battle rifle given they seem to be holding quite strongly to use of former war/battle weapons otherwise for the most part. "G series"
I admit I might have gone a bit over the top with the G series entry. Please remove if you find it too much. I just found it very interesting to see such a rare version in a movie. :) Here is where I found the info on the FN FAL G series. Dudester32 (talk) 12:10, 12 September 2016 (EDT)
