The Winter War

I don't suppose you'd be willing to finish The Winter War page? I'd do it myself, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It's technically a driveby, and I've been thinking about deleting it if someone didn't claim it. --Funkychinaman 08:33, 7 August 2012 (CDT)

I'll be happy to start adding to the article. I have a good quality version of the movie and I can provide screens with no prob. Dudster32 08:50, 7 August 2012 (CDT)
Thanks! --Funkychinaman 08:54, 7 August 2012 (CDT)
And please be sure to crop out the black bars on images. Thanks. --Funkychinaman 10:02, 7 August 2012 (CDT)
Crap...:P I'll get on it. Dudster32 10:04, 7 August 2012 (CDT)

The Border

I've deleted the page for The Border for lack of effort. I've preserved the code on the talk page for you if ever decide to continue with it. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:14, 7 November 2012 (EST)

I restored the page. But I had moved all the code over to the discussion page earlier. - Funkychinaman (talk) 17:08, 4 March 2013 (EST)

New page

According to IMDB, the undefined english title is The Callup. I honestly don't know if you could call it Repmånad even if you wanted to, as I'm not sure the system will recognize it. (It does recognize the "Ø" in Krag-Jørgensen though.) I did a bit of research, and it looks like "å" is often transcribed as "aa," so maybe you can call it Repmaanad? --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:09, 11 March 2013 (EDT)

Always check IMDB first. I did a test, and the system will take Repmånad. I'd create it as Repmånad, with redirects The Callup ''Repmanadand Repmaanad. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:17, 11 March 2013 (EDT)

Ksp m/36

I changed the caption because I uploaded a new version, which WAS taken from a Swedish army manual. A gun image with a mannequin is a little... weird. You can see the new image on the Callup page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:57, 14 March 2013 (EDT)

It takes a few hours to update. You can force an update by slightly changing the size of the thumbnail. (Notice I changed it from 400 to 401px.) --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:07, 14 March 2013 (EDT)

Revolver

I'm okay with revolvers. The revolver in question looks like it could be a Smith & Wesson Model 629 with a three-inch barrel. It looks like one of the custom ported ones mentioned on the talk page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:33, 26 June 2013 (EDT)

All Quiet on the Western Front

I don't suppose you'd be willing to replace all the existing screenshots on the page. They look like they're from a VHS copy. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:44, 10 July 2013 (EDT)

Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:12, 10 July 2013 (EDT)
You can just overwrite the existing file. Just click on the image and then "Upload a new version of this file." --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:04, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

The Losers 1970

If you're going to add a summary for a film, please add a little bit more information such as who directed the film or who starred the film or explain briefly the plot of the film. If you do not want to do this, then just make in infobox for the film. --Ben41 (talk) 02:15, 11 July 2013 (EDT)

If you're still working on a movie page, please put a "Work In Progress" banner at the top by typing this: {{wip}} --Ben41 (talk) 15:39, 11 July 2013 (EDT)

Samurai movies

We recently told another user to stop making pages for samurai movies. There are a lot better films to cover. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:07, 11 April 2014 (EDT)

If you have one or two you feel should belong, then feel free, just don't go on a spree. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:41, 11 April 2014 (EDT)

I created articles: Harakiri, Zatoichi, Kagemusha, Shogun Assassin and anime InuYasha, Samurai Champloo, Afro Samurai. Later admins told me stop creating pages about samurai films with only one firearm (Tanegashima). But you can find at IMFDB articles Seven Samurai, Ran, Yojimbo, The Last Samurai and, probably, other. So, if you want to create some articles about samurai films, befor creating, read this pages. Pyramid Silent (talk) 11:33, 12 April 2014 (EDT)

The Long Riders

Thanks for adding images for The Long Riders. In the future, if you are replacing screenshots on the page, please overwrite the ones already there instead of uploading new ones. --Ben41 (talk) 19:43, 27 February 2015 (EST)

Screenshots

Please remember to crop the black bars from your screenshots. Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:07, 12 March 2015 (EDT)

The Water Diviner

Sorry, but unfortunately the film isn't available on video in the US. Your work will be saved in the discussion page until when the film is released on video in the US. --17:32, 19 March 2015 (EDT)

Actor Entries

Usually, the actor must have either held the weapon or carried the weapon in a holster in order for a valid entry. Usually actors in planes with machine guns don't count, but because WW I pilots actually are seen handling the machine guns in movies, this would be an exception. --Ben41 (talk) 06:22, 20 March 2015 (EDT)

If an actor uses a weapon, it gets listed. If he or she doesn't, it doesn't. We're not IMDB. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:26, 20 March 2015 (EDT)

Day of the Jackel

The gun itself is eligible under the guidelines that currently regulate fictional firearms. I'll agree however that the page itself needs work. I suggest you just clean up the page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:57, 23 March 2015 (EDT)

I think it just needs a table. --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:37, 23 March 2015 (EDT)

Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

Thanks for adding images for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. I would just ask that in the future, please add an extra word from the show's episode to the filename in order to help ID the screenshot better. Example: if an image is from "Demons of Deception", you can name it: "YIDDemon Maxim". Usually you would put the season name and number, but the numbering for this series is a little odd. --Ben41 (talk) 13:10, 25 March 2015 (EDT)

Renaming page.

Please use "Move" tool when you want to rename a page. It allows to keep the history. Thanks. Greg-Z (talk) 06:27, 27 March 2015 (EDT)

Disambiguation Pages

I've redone the Tobruk (disambiguation) for your future reference. --Ben41 (talk) 16:45, 4 April 2015 (EDT)

Reply from Stan

Well, if you REALLY want to, you can revert that edit back - If it's judged to be an issue later an Admin can take care of it. That said, I only did that because I've seen other users warned to avoid speculation and conjecture in pages, though frankly I think we all do it to an extent. Anyway, again, you can revert, but try to mindful of making speculative remarks on media pages (I really should do that more myself, too). That's all. StanTheMan (talk) 16:55, 17 August 2015 (EDT)

Let's try to avoid speculation. You can always present theories on the talk page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:02, 17 August 2015 (EDT)

I did some searching, but nothing is coming up here. You can go over your own contributions to be sure. --Funkychinaman (talk) 20:16, 22 August 2015 (EDT)

Battle of Britain BF-109s

The BF-109s in Battle of Britain were Spanish HA-1112-M1L, which were only armed with Hispano-Suiza 20mm cannons in the wings. Any guns in the nose are definitely mockups. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:22, 28 December 2015 (EST)

Re: Stunt Actor Category

Well, I'm not really one to ask about such a thing in terms of any reaching decision (kinda curious as to why you did ask me and not one of the admins) - I know I've been around a while but I'm not in authority or anything (at least not that I know of).

That said, I don't know. While there are quite a few stunt performers who wield firearms (and many are seen across several films), I'm not sure if making a specific subcategory for them would help much. I don't see what it would hurt in itself, though, aside from making extra work for a tangential piece of the site. Ultimately, I'm indifferent, leaning to against. But again, I don't make the rules. StanTheMan (talk) 01:35, 27 March 2016 (EDT)

Oh, well in that case, kind of you to ask, and thanks. Anyway, I'm not aware of any discussion being made about this in particular, but it's been well stated in the past we should avoid extraneous categories and such and keep things as condensed and simple as possible. StanTheMan (talk) 01:10, 30 March 2016 (EDT)

RE: Red Dawn edit

Your welcome. Wanted to have the grenade image above the screencap that references it as it's the norm on the site. Doing two images side-by-side with the 'left' orientation on one is a little trick than can be handy but it doesn't always work (sometimes it can even mess some formatting up) - That and the instances it can even be used are rare, hence why it's done so very sparingly. Anyway, glad to be of help where I can. StanTheMan (talk) 18:34, 19 April 2016 (EDT)

RE: Batman 1989

Your text was "He actually cocks it first which is a bit redundant since as a semi-auto gun it cocks automatically after each shot." - Which in itself is wrong; Ignoring this particular instance this statement implies every semiauto 'cocks automatically' which DAO guns automatically refute, thus making it generally inaccurate and misleading. It does apply to 1911s but not all semiautos operate like 1911s. You could elaborate that, but that could get unwieldy in the text I feel. That said, your other part, "The manual cocking was probably added for dramatic effect." could be left, but is still a bit problematic - while the reasoning you give behind it (and to an extent, part of your first part) is well-made, it's also, strictly speaking, speculation - Something we try to avoid. And again, elaborating on it I think would only make it worse. All-told, when in doubt, better to just omit such things entirely, simpler that way. If you really want, the latter part can be put back, but I'd suggest more to the effect of "He holds his 1911 on Gordon, cocking the hammer as he does so (likely done solely for dramatic effect) - That wording keeps it simple, shows it as both an assumption (which again, strictly, it is) but also describes what happens in that shot factually. StanTheMan (talk) 16:02, 29 August 2016 (EDT)

No prob man, not trying to be harsh there or anything (hope not, anyway). Like I said, often just better - or at least, simpler - to avoid some things. I've had to catch myself a time or two on that as well. ;) StanTheMan (talk) 02:13, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
