ArmA II

Do you think thar we can start putting up real life photo's of the weapons in this game that whe don't have screenshots for? Rockwolf66

 • I just added alot of Images of real weapons from the gun pages. I'm trying to use them as both examples of the real weapons and as Placeholders until we can get some more Screenshots in. Rockwolf66 04:33, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: U.S. Marshals Screenshot Needed

Yeah, I think I can do that. However, right now, I'm still not back at my apartment, and my DVDs and my external hard drive (where I keep my downloaded movies) are over there. It may be another day or two before I get back.

Also, do you think you'll change the guns on the Men in Black page? Like I said in the message below this, they're not real SIG P225s; they're just fake SIG look-a-like flashbulb guns.

OK, how do you like these?
I had trouble finding any good ones of him with the PT945. There's one that might be OK from the swamp scene, but I only have a poor quality AVI rip of the film, and it's hard to see his face or the shape of the gun. Maybe if someone who has the actual DVD takes the shot, it'll look better. Judge for yourself:

Men in Black

Nice job on the new Men in Black article! BUT, as usual, I must point out one correction. You identify the guns used in the shooting gallery scene as SIG P225s. However, if you look closely, you'll see that they actually aren't shaped quite like real 225s. You might also notice when you watch the film that when the guns are fired, the slides don't move at all. That's because they're actually the "non gun" SIG flashbulb-firing replicas made by International Studio Services. Here is a picture of one:

Got it from here: http://weaponspecialists.com/insiteTemplate.php?includeWhat=propView&id=107&category=&primaryCategory=sub&refID=24&cf=bpic

Also, LMO has a picture of the actual Redhawk revolver used in the film, if you want to use that.

Lord of War

I dunno, I've been re-doing a lot of pages I've worked on to make the screenshots bigger (including The Siege and The Negotiator), because I figured they were small enough that fitting them on the page in their original size would be better than shrinking them. Does it really look that bad when I do them in full-size? I can't tell because I can only judge by my laptop screen, where they appear too small.

No, I agree that posting full-size shots is a bad idea when they're so huge, but the ones I take are usually pretty low-res and small, because they often come from AVI rips of DVDs, and because my capture software only takes low res (a trade-off for being able to hit a key and snap a shot instantly, I guess). Some of them are so small that it's hard to even tell what a particular gun is without clicking, and I figured people would prefer to be able to just scan the page quickly and correctly discern the weapon's make and model.

Duplicate RPD page

If it's okay I will delete the duplicate RPD Light Machine gun page you created on June 7th. I created the previous one on June 28th, 2008. MoviePropMaster2008

Updates

cc'd to: MT2008, Orca1 9904, Charon68 and others... :) I've been trying to get higher rez original pics to IMFDB for a little bit now. One of the major beefs I have with site like Security arms.org or Guns of the world.ru is that there are some really crappy pics, and lots of those pics are weird hybrid variations that are not good representations of the mainstream version of the firearm. Though I've had some nice comments from a few folks, I need to verify that it's kosher to try to eliminate the bad resolution 'stolen from the net' pics and replace them with original photographs. (granted permission by me the copyright holder) Don't know if I am stepping on anyone's toes or if anyone would be offended that I replaced their image (which was 'borrowed' from the net originally) with another image. If anyone thinks I should NOT be replacing pics on existing pages with new gun images, please let me know. Do the majority of IMFDB users even care? I'm fully expecting other sites to start stealing images from IMFDB when the level of pics goes up. :) hahahaha. Thanks for your comments at any rate> :)

Re: Incredible Hulk Grenade Launchers

You might be right, but the Milkor M32 has the tubular new-style M4 collapsible stock (plus, isn't the furniture usually painted in desert tan?) The ones in the movie have fixed stocks that bear a lot more resemblance to the DefTech 37mm launcher I posted. It looks to me like they might be DefTech launchers that were visually modified (given different front ends) to resemble the M32 because the armorers couldn't get ahold of actual M32s.

But I really am not sure; I'm not at all an expert on grenade launchers.

No Problem...

Hi,

Always happy to help out. The screencap of the SPAS-12 in "Future's End" I posted on your Star Trek: Voyager page is actually from a YouTube video, but I figured it would be decent quality for now. I couldn't get a good shot of either the M16s/AR15s or the Beretta, though (I can't even tell for sure that it is a Beretta and not a Taurus PT92).

Also, maybe you can help me with The Siege - do you remember where the Browning M2 and M203 appear? I checked the stadium scene and I really can't see the M203 anywhere...it might just be because I have a pretty crappy AVI rip of the movie, so the quality makes it hard to tell.

OK, I finally did manage to find the M203. I'll get a screencap of that, plus the grenade used in the chop-shop. I'm also trying to get good shots of the Colt 9mm SMGs used by the special ops guys who capture the Sheik in the beginning, and the Glocks carried by the N.Y.P.D. officers.
As far as the Browning M2 goes...I may be wrong, but I think that's actually a Mark-19 automatic grenade launcher on the top of the APC. It's hard to tell, but the barrel looks a bit too short and a bit too thick to be an M2, so Mark-19 would be my next guess.
All right, I'll take your word for it because I'm having a great deal of trouble being sure myself.

Sid Vicious?

Hahaha, dude... Sid Vicious is a pro wrestler (according to a google search). The villain from Cowboy Bebop is simply just "Vicious". I used to be a big CB fan.

Power Outtage

Sorry about the sudden lack-of-response online last night. Power went out here for about 4 hours.

Hopefully you got the screenshot feature of WinDVD working alright.

Detonics 1911/ ICQ / .223 vs. 5.56mm chamberings

Working on getting you a Detonics 1911 (A1 variant denotes a curved Mainspring housing, slightly larger controls and in this case I cannot tell if a detonics is an "A1" variant or not. It could also be a Series 70 or 80 mod; I'll find out more). I mostly work on Springfield Armory, IMBEL, Kimber or Colt variants. But, here is what I found:

Check these sights on the Detonics line of 1911's out, they should help,

When you get a chance, also check your ICQ, I added it to the list and sent an authorization request.

All Ruger Mini-14's are chambered in ".223 Rem" (as exactly etched on the receivers. I have a Police-turn-in GB and can take a Screenshot if you need me to). There is a difference (look up SAAMI or Mil-Spec. 5.56mm is slightly larger. They both use the exact same casing dimensions, though the 5.56mm brass casings are usually more regularly annealed and tempered. 5.56mm are also a bit "hotter", which is where the military comes in. .223 was developed by Remington Peters, and adapted by the Military (who uses metric now) as the 5.56mm. If a rifle has "5.56mm" stamped on it, rest-assured it can fire either 5.56mm or .223 rem without a problem (so long as the ammo is quality). If a rifle has ".223 Rem" stamped on it, usually you can only use .223, as the hotter pressures created by the 5.56mm and slightly different bullet profile (not cartridge, just bullet) can cause problems. The Ruger Mini-14, however, is a moot point, as even though it is marked ".223 Rem." on the receivers, it can fire both 5.56mm and .223 rem without issue, as Ruger has cut its Mini-14 Chambers in a unique "universal"-cut chamber that is designed to fire either military or commercial cartridges.

Here is a good example of the slight difference:

Check

for more info on the subtle variances between the two chamberings.

Subtleties of AK Variants

The only reliable means of telling a AKMSU and an AKSU-74 (AKA AKS-74U) apart are to look at the curve rate of its 30rd magazine; to look at comparative bore-diameter (usually not possible from screenshots), or to see the cartridges it is firing up close (definately not possible from a screenshot, and also movies generally use star-crimped blanks and blank-adapted firearms).

In the instance of A Man Apart, you have an AK Carbine of some type, where a "Krinkov" type handguard is present (Black), and a waffle-pattern magazine with a 7.62x39 signature curve in it (It could be Bulgarian, East German or U.S.A. ProMag in manufacture). AK furniture, for the most part, is interchangeable. A pistol-grip from an AKM will work on an AK-74 and vica-versa; same with handguards, FCG's, butt-stocks, etc... Some muzzle-breaks are the same style too (not necc. bore dia. or thread-pattern), as seen in that "Krinkov" style AK Carbine. I've even seen AK-74 styled Muzzle-breaks on AKM's and AK-103's, so it's not unique to 74's.

The only REAL difference between the functional aspects of an AKM and AK-74 are the bolt-faces, magazines and bore/chambers. Most of the rest of the functional aspects are nearly identical, or identical (enough to be swapped). With some variance in bakelite furniture and certain muzzle-breaks and/or flash-hiders, they are functionally the same firearm, simply chambered in two different cartridges.

Point being, with simple tools and some know-how, ANYONE can modify an AK to their liking. The only real way to tell on screen, at least with an AK is the curve of the magazine. Slightly-Curved Magazine = AK-74 in 5.45x39mm or a SAR-3 equivalent (*.223/5.56mm Variant AK from Romania; Bulgaria also makes an SLR-106 type in .223/5.56mm AK Variants. The .223 AK variants use the 5.45x39 mags with a swapped-out follower to accept the cartridge profile of .223 Rem)... Deep-curved Magazine = AK-47, AKM, in 7.62x39.

And I wouldn't even call it an "incident", rather just an example of clashing info on a firearm. A Man Apart wasn't THAT great of a movie anwway (I'd give it 7 out of 10). I don't think it'd be worth my time to keep things accurate to just have my contributions deleted. By all means, if my formatting is not clean or the layout desireable, correct away; this is NOT my site. But I will not post ANYTHING on database sights like this unless I was certain my info was certifiably correct. I do make mistakes though, and if anyone believes I am mistaken, I wish to be called out on it.

I don't want to sound effete, but I have lots of experience building Romanian GP-75's from de-milled parts (Romanian National Guard AKM's chopped up and shipped to the U.S.), and have fired many different builds from different country kits (Polish, Hungarian, Yugoslavian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Russian/Siaga, Egyptian/Maadi, Chinese/Norinco). I have also built a few Hybrid-Stag/Bushy/RRA AR's and Metric FALs (Mostly IMBEL) in my day. Not to mention several other projects with 1911's.

And It wasn't that big of a deal dude, I was just trying to dileniate the extreme variety inherent in Kalashnikov variants. The only way to tell for certain is to handle it up close, but there are "Easy tells" on screen that give away a firearm's identity. I just don't like getting into pissing matches over who's right; no one wins in a pissing match. It was late and I just gave up changing or adding anymore to "A Man Apart" anyway. My PC was pissing me off and the screen-shot function on my DVD player was not working so well (look at the M4 Screenshot from the movie; some weird graphical glitches going on). I think my GC may be over-heating.

Either way, I'm going to have to let someone else finish it. I may pop in from time to time and add things here and there, and offer any wisdom that I may bring to bear; should it be needed. I don't know everything. I know a good deal, but still have tons to learn, so hopefully I can still learn stuff by checking in here and there.

Nice

Orca, nice catch on the Colt 9mm Submachine Gun - I'd never seen it before and assumed it was a 9mm AR-15. Do you know if the Colt 9mm SMG is actually fielded or if it's just used as a trainer? Thanks for all your recent additions to the site. bunni 06:34, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks.

Hey Orca, I just wanted to say thanks for putting the rest of the weapons up on the War of The Worlds page. I got pictures of all, but two of them, but I don't worry, I'll try to get them later.

Thanks

Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to get Tim Robbins' shotgun too. And thanks again for your help.

WoTW is done.

Hey Orca, I got the rest of those shots, be sure to tell me if I got the right ones. And thanks again for the help.

Sorry

Sorry about that, I uploaded a new image of it, tell me if I got it.

Thanks

Thanks, I figured that had to be it. That should be everything now. I think I'm going to take a short break to think of a film to do next.

M16 rifle series

Nice work on the page - it's much cleaner now. bunni 19:17, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Splitting M16 and Beretta 92 up

Someone suggested splitting up the Beretta 92 page into its variants, when I started the site there really wasn't enough content to do so but it might make sense now to do so for both the Beretta 92 and the M16 series - what do you think? bunni 22:32, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I'll leave it up to you then, when and if you think the 93R is ready for its own page feel free to do it. I'm going to come through this weekend and do some quality control work on all the new pages, get the formatting uniform again. bunni 22:54, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

No problem

No problem, I'm not going to let my favorite pistol's page be a mess, plus quite a few of the pages on this site need to cleaned up. And sorry that I deleted the # on the links, I didn't know what they were for.

Okay

Thanks for the reminder, I'll be sure to tag my screenshots later.

Sig P220 Merge

Good idea - copy the content over to one page and redirect the rest if you get a chance, if not I can try and take care of it later. bunni 19:55, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia article

No relation to the article, honestly I've never seen it - was it very complete? If you have some connections at Wikipedia an admin can provide you with a copy of a deleted article - that could be a treasure trove of new articles for us. The Wikipedia links I was creating to the imfdb on the gun and movie pages were just recently all tagged as link spamming and removed so my account is worthless on Wikipedia at the moment. Also, I think it was Alienqueen that suggested we create some admins to help block users vandalising the wiki - I'm all for that, you and alienqueen are the only ones I'd trust with admin status though. Let me know if you're up for it and I'll figure out how to upgrade your accounts. bunni 00:54, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Digg

I submitted the Saving Private Ryan page to Digg - can you digg it? http://digg.com/movies/A_visual_guide_to_the_guns_of_Saving_Private_Ryan bunni 18:29, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Redirect

Hey Orca, I would like to know how to redirect a page? Thanks. Alienqueen11.

my Email Address

Okay I understand, here it is my Email Address:

Apache0022003@yahoo.com

Thank you very much Orca.

Cover and Poster Categories

Sounds good, I'm still trying to figure out how to use dvd covers in the browse by movie section.

How about and ?

Poster and Cover Art

Good call, Poster and Cover Art works.

Re: Screenshots

You got it buddy, I've started to download The Matrix Reloaded, I'll suffer through it for you. :) bunni 22:12, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Images

Sorry, I don't have the dvds to get pictures from those movies, but I plan to get more dvds eventually and fill in the pictures once, But I'll try my best until then.

Image

Yeah, I'm thinking it's some kind of Glock too, but the handle has me wondering. I'll have to to do more research. Alienqueen11.

You're now a Sysop, Congrats!

Thanks for all your efforts so far, I finally got the chance to research how to set user privileges and made both you and Alienqueen11 Sysops. You can now ban users, delete and undelete pages, and revert pages to previous versions. Thanks much! Best, Chris WikiSysop 23:30, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Good News.

Hey Orca, I got some good news for you, I can fill in Bad Boys II for you now because I found a Way to get rid of the black bars that are in widescreen movies. Alienqueen11.

Yep, I'm going to do a quick Snakes on a Plane article first then I'm going to get right on it.

Question

Were in the Freeway chase scene did you see the G36K? Alienqueen11.

Okay, thanks. I'll look there.

Is this it?

Is this it right here?:

That is a G36C. It has two holes in the forend and the smaller carry handle. A G36K has four holes in the forend and usually has a larger carry handle.

Alienqueen11.

screenshot help

I uses CyberLink Powerdvd for my screenshot, but I can tell you it's usually a button called Capture Frame. Alienqueen11.

Re: Screenshot Help

Yeah, it even tops Black Hawk Down, I can't believe how many screenshots I took today! And I'm afraid I can't find your G36K, there is this other part were a DEA agent fires a machine gun out of the passenger window of another black Bronco, but I couldn't seem to identify it. And by the way good luck finding out how to take screenshots.

hey

Hey this is my first try at editing anything so let me know if I'm doing something wrong, OK.

Properly Categorize Images ?

When adding new images how do I properly categorize them. I'm, I suppose to put text in the summary box?Gunner313

Thanks

Hey Orca, I know I probably should have said this sooner but thanks for putting the pages I make up on the gun pages, I highly appreciate it. Alienqueen11.

Question

What's with you and the images lately? Nothing personal, just a question. Alienqueen11.

RE: Question

Oh okay, there's really no problem with it. I'm just more used to the side by side comparison thing. Alienqueen11.

RE: Thanks

No problem, glad it helped somebody. I still have many Dawn of the Dead screenshots to upload, and it looks there's still quite a few guns in there that are going to appear on the site for the first time. Alienqueen11.

oops

My mistake on the BHD 1911 - I was thinking the guy that made the Tokarev ID forgot to delete the 1911 part, I didn't even read it and totally forgot the Delta guys had them bunni 02:27, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Re:Underworld MP5 ID?

Looks like you're, I took a closer look at it, and it seems to have a telescoping stock. When I first seen it, it looked like his sleeve was covering up part of the stock. I'll fix it right away. Alienqueen11.

Re:Awesome work

Thanks, I'll be sure to put in anything I find. Alienqueen11.

RE: Mystery Pistol.

That is Murtaugh's Smith & Wesson 5906, I'm putting it up right now. Alienqueen11.

There you go

There you go, Orca, that should be everything for Lethal Weapon 4. If there's anything else, be sure to let me know. Anyway, I'm going to go to bed now, so have a good night. Alienqueen11.

Re:M41A Pulse Rifle Info

Thanks, I will be sure to include that in the External links. And yeah, I got pictures of the handgun you mentioned, and also this is why I call myself Alienqueen11.

Aliens

I threw a picture in use it if you want.

Re: Aliens

You're right, it has to have been created from an M16. Alienqueen11.

Thanks

Thanks for helping me with Aliens, it's all finished now. Alienqueen11.

re pictures

I have saved pictures from everywere on the internet for a long time, I am a huge gun nut and movie buff. Most pictures come from gun sites and gun forums. Some pictures came from a webite that doesn't exist any more gunsinmovies.com. That site had so many mistakes and they would never edit it.

Thanks

Thanks for identifying one of the Miami Vice weapons for me. Alienqueen11.

Re:Miami Vice Sniper Rifle

I say go for it, I see some of it's qualities in the Screenshot. And after all I, it matches the variety of guns in the movie. Alienqueen11.

Hey Orca, do you know what kind of grenades these are? Alienqueen11.

King Kong

I'm going to get pictures from King Kong for you, I got one of the Luger which I just put up. I placed it at the bottom of the weapon picture becauise I figured you would like it like that. Alienqueen11.

No problem, I enjoyed this movie too. And thanks for commenting on my screenshots. Also, I found this Cannon thing that be was being used by the soldiers too, do you know what is?

Thanks, I blocked this same guy for only 2 hours earlier hoping he would learn from it, and told him to take his stuff to the forums, but he didn't listen. Anyway, I was going to block him once it was confirmed as spam, but you got him, so thanks. Alienqueen11.

About your pistol, it looks alot like a Smith & Wesson 5906. Alienqueen11.

image

Uh, just a note. The image you uploaded in Sep 07 "SGside2.jpg‎" is NOT of the WA-2000. It is a photograph of the SG-2000 (Shuster gewehr) Custom .22 target rifle made by Ironwood Designs in San Jose, California. I know. I was the photographer who shot the image and copyright belongs to me and to Ironwood Designs, Inc. Thanks. I would not mind so much but it's of the wrong firearm. - MoviePropMaster2008

re: image

Thanks for the reply. I will be trying to take a pic of the real WA-2000 in the future. Right now I'm trying to get back to the warehouse and pull out some more stuff to take pics of. I know there are some high resolution pics already out there, but I'm probably going to try to take some pics of some PKMs, RPD, DPMs, MAG-58s, FN MK 48, plus some more of the Russian RPG variations. I also have access to every variation of the M60, though I know there are tons of AIRSOFT pics out there, I figured that people wanted to see high resolution pics of the real stuff. I usually just pull stuff out of my own personal inventory but I got two friends who are Title one and two/Plus Destructive Device manufacturers who can get samples of lots of original stuff. Since so many guns have crappy low resolution pics (on sites like Security arms or guns of the world) my holy grail is to get high resolution pics of the RARE stuff or the newer exotic foreign stuff and post them HERE. :) Also, since I've worked on some of these movies or know the guys who have, I will try to fix some of the 'errors' or 'myths' about the productions. There are a LOT of 'Franken-guns' out there, done in the 1970s and 1980s when access to foreign full auto guns was sketchy so special effects guys tried to 'imitate' certain models of guns with slapped-on aluminum or plastic outer housings. Also there are the fictional guns, like the ones for movies like 'Total Recall' or 'Spawn' (where Melinda Clarke used M-11s dummied up to resemble P90s! hahahaha.) I'll try to get pics of THOSE guns as well. :) Thanks and best regards. MoviePropMaster2008

RE: Armeggedon Screenshots

No problem Orca, I enjoy taking screenshots. I also uploaded some screenshots for the Berettas in Independence Day. Alienqueen11

Admin Rights

Hey Orca, are your moderatoring abilities working because I've been unable to ban users since the server change. If can, go to the Commando talk page, and look at the revision history of it, and the first IP at the bottom, and try blocking that user, and see if you get an error message. Bunni is working on this issue right now by the way.--Alienqueen11 04:08, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Saving Private Ryan

I hope you didn't do anymore SPR shots like Miller with his .45 because I was up all night rescreecapping, with that shot included.... -GM

no big deal then, half the shots didn't save so I had to redo them today, so I left that shot out. I'm gonna start uploading them now. -GM

Re: Admin Rights

Bunni can't seem to be able to find the source of the problem, but he says to make a new account and let him know, and he will see if the Admin rights will work there. He wants to see if the error is caused by the transfer of accounts to the new server.--Alienqueen11 03:52, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Re:Tears of the Sun

Go ahead, one less thing to do. Just do it justice. -GM

Hey

Hey, Orca, I just wanted to stop by and let you know that we now have the ability to block users back.--Alienqueen11 03:27, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

HDM

Good call on the HDM. That's technically what the gun is. That particular gun has been sitting in the Title II safe for decades. Don't know if it's been in any movies or not. :) Thanks again.

Re:Jarhead tank

Thanks, I know little about tanks. (I'm obviously more of a gun person). I would have figured whatever mount they put on the tank would be what they would use. I didn't know they specifically used M240s (although I did know they had one lined up with the cannon, one on the loader's hatch.) -GM

Beast of War

I left a note about the Beast of War on Bunni's Talk page, so it hopefully will be fixed soon.--Alienqueen11 19:46, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Your Glock Request

Hey, I was wondering if you could possibly provide an image of a 2nd-Generation Glock 23 for the article on The Fugitive, since the image for that weapon on the page is of a 3rd-Generation model with accessory rails on the frame as opposed to the smooth-framed 2nd-Generation model seen in the screenshots? I already edited the Glock 22 section similarly for that article and the sequel U.S. Marshals, and was wondering if you could help me out with that one image so I don't have to chase down an image on Google. Thanks in advance.

what? No comments? ;) Uh ... you're welcome.... ;)

Sorry I misread that and posted the 3rd generation new pics. Sorry they are of no use to you. Will try but these models are far rarer in 2nd gen than the other models like the 17 and 19. I don't have any 2nd gens myself, but will try to hunt them down and get the pics. As soon as I do, I will post a note in your talk page. :) Again, sorry for the misreading of your request. I have so many ................. MoviePropMaster2008 07:55, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Orca, just an FYI: There is no such thing as a "3rd Generation" Glock 22 or Glock 23. Only the Glock 17 and Glock 18 were ever made in three versions, the earliest "1st Generation" being the one without the checkered front and backstraps. For any of the other Glock models, from the 19 on up, "1st Generation" means the standard non-railed/checked front and backstraps, while "2nd Generation" means railed frame, finger grooves, and thumb reliefs. -MT2008 (posting from work)

Kill Point

NP on posting screencaps. I dunno about DVD, but these episodes were purchased from iTunes. I only have 4 episodes, but fortunately, they're all those that are particularly gun-intensive, so I should be able to get just about all of the guns on this page, and even a couple you missed (like the Ruger P94 used by one of the 10-13 guys during the subway shootout).

Also, just an FYI: The carbines used by SWAT in firing scenes aren't M653s. You'll see soon when I get some new screencaps of them (there are some GREAT ones from the last episode), but they have 16" barrels and no forward assist. It's far more likely that they're old (1970s-era) AR-15 Sporter carbines. All of the assault rifles on this show are civilian models, which is probably because the budget was so low. -MT2008 17:52, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Non Guns

Just so you know, the MGC M16s didn't belong on the "Non Gun" page. "Non Guns" are a special type of flashbulb firing replica made by International Studio Services, whereas the MGC M16s are something else. The "Non Guns" page isn't a page made for fake guns in movies; it was made specifically for this particular brand of flashbulb (or "flashpaper" guns, as GunMaster often calls them in his articles) weapons. -MT2008 02:06, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Care to take a look at my RE:E movie page?

Since no one did this page since the DVD release, I decided to do so. I need some check ups cause I always have a hard time telling Taurus from Beretta. Also see if you can ID the Cobray M11 for me if it is one. The previous guy posted up and even I thought it was an MP7 until I looked closer. If you got the time. Excalibur01

I can't be nice anymore

Someone has to draw the line. This guy Don whatever. He just posted a NEW flash animation on this site. What the hell? I've see the pics or trash that resembles pictures of guns and he thinks those are what they are? Is he high or some punk kid that thinks it's so cool that it deserves to be on this site. Sift Head and that other flash animation thing, Taegukgi. Those are pardon my language, pieces of shit that are NOT worthy of this place that some of us hold with respect. Yeah, they seem entertaining, but if we decide to let something this slide, then whose to stop from putting other flash animations that have "drawings" of guns on them because "Oh they have guns, so therefore they should be on this site". I want to remove it, but I like a majority vote instead of me acting pissed of. I'm asking everyone else their thoughts. Excalibur01 02:06, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

I reverted your edits because I am very sure that the gun that he uses is a Sig Sauer and not a H&K , but then I reverted them back as you left them.

A little help

I just started my Police Story 3: Supercop page, but I need some help IDing some of the guns. Can you give me a hand? Excalibur01 14:36, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Bond Category

I think it should just contain the actors who played Bond, not people in Bond movies like Bond girls and Bond villians. Maybe sub-categories for Bond Girls and Bond Villians could be made seperate, but personally I think all this sub-category stuff is kind of pointless. What is so hard about finding a page that it needs to be moved from its normal category of Movies, Guns, and Actors into sub-categories like Comedy Movie, Rifle, and Actor Male, Actor Female, Actor Bond? IMO it is unecessary. - Gunmaster45

though I dislike adding even ANOTHER layer of categories, GM's suggestion about Bond girls and villains makes the most sense. The Bond Actor should be for the lead actor only. The real issue is "does anyone sort by these categories?" I really don't know if they are useful or not. If they are useful for someone to do a 'search' then they have a purpose, I guess. MPM2008

Re:Iron Giant

I'm in the same situation, I only own it on VHS. I might buy it on DVD though, because I like it. - Gunmaster45

Mixed up berettas

you know you may be right, or the tags in the case might be on the wrong guns. I will call the "curator" tomorrow and double check. Figures, I usually take a photo of the ID tag on the gun, but I didn't have time so I didn't on all of the premiere Hollywood Hero guns. And they also had "short hand". I think I may have mentally confused DH 2-3-4 with LW2-3-4. I have to double check that. I made over 30 images updates last night, new P9S, New Model 19 from Lethal Weapon, I replaced the old images on the AMT longslide and AMT 5", New Para Ordnance P14, New Kimber TLE II, Added the Beretta 92S and 92SB, added a remington 1100 tactical, replaced the S&W 586, added the screen used S&W 3913 from Demolition Man, added the early S&W 5904, etc. When I have that much stuff, I might get some stuff mixed up. THANKS for the eagle eyes! I will double check based on your excellent observations!. MoviePropMaster2008 19:57, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

You're right, I screwed up

I did find ONE of my snapshots of the case and found this. I mixed up a bunch of the berettas, ARGHH!!! I have to double check all of them again.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

This is a snap I usually do to double check my work. Note that the extended 92F I had was actually the Demolition Man gun, not the LH gun. I did snap a shot of the LH gun, but now I have to find it. THANKS for the eagle eyes! MoviePropMaster2008 20:10, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Transformers

Orca,

I'm not sure about the 1911 from Transformers, but I don't think it's an XSE if it has no cocking serrations in front. My guess is that it's probably built on a Colt Mark IV Series 80 or something else from that generation. Keep in mind that there are lots of custom 1911s in films which may be built from several components. It's hard to know what any of them might be for sure, unless we could ask Rock Galotti (the armorer who worked on the movie). -MT2008 02:00, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Production Dates

I have a question for you. Why are you removing the dates of production? It helps out several ways for people that see the weapons finding those shows also for us in the industry to see how things were done then compared to now. Most back then were not correct but it does give a reference point. -Phoenixent

RE: Carl Gustaf

Hi,

Pheonixent asked me to fix the Carl Gustaf M/45 page. He said that it was incorrectly labeled "Carl Gustaf m/45" (with a lowercase "m"). However, what's weird is that for me, it doesn't look that way, even though it seems to be that way for him. I took a screenshot to show him that there doesn't seem to be an error, and then posted it in a PM I sent him on the IMFDB forum.

I'll delete it as soon as he responds, as I realize it has no other utility on this site. -MT2008 17:31, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Also, should we really classify the "Glock" page under "Submachine Gun", just because the Glock 18 is a machine pistol? Seems to me like it might be confusing... -MT2008 17:42, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you

re: In The Army Now

That movie was actually on TV not too long ago (can't remember channel), but I remember the M16s as having the wrong receiver style for A2s. Also, keep in mind that in the 1990s, the M16A2 was harder for movie armorers to acquire than it is today. That's why it's common for them to use older M16 variants (like the A1) fitted with A2 hand guards to simulate the newer rifle.

I know I must be boring you. Yes, I have no life. -MT2008 21:33, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

The Relic

That looks like a very interesting movie, I'll have to look for it the next time I go out. Sometimes I get in a mood to screencap something, but can't decide what. Thanks for the suggestion.--Alienqueen11 03:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Pearl Harbor

I was watching Pearl Harbor on TV today and saw the Japanese using 20mm AA guns (can't remember their names) and they were clearly acetylne firing guns. Is there any chance you could look back for them at some point. BTW, do you know how to crop the widescreen bars off of screencaps, because it is prefered when uploading images on the site. Thanks. - Gunmaster45

Shaved or not shaved

Nope, but I can try to track one down and take a pic of it. I photographed one of my own Model 60s from inventory, but I don't' have a shaved hammer one in my vault. MPM2008

The Beast of War

Hahaha. I didn't want to remove your screencaps until I asked permission! :) LOL. Hope you like the newer screenshots. You also write good captions for the photos! MoviePropMaster2008 06:05, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

More

I have more screenshots that I don't have time to upload tonight. I might just leave them blank since you write better shot captions than I do! :) hahaha. MoviePropMaster2008 06:06, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the Beast updates

Are you a fan of this film? You know a heck of a lot about it. :) I hope you didn't mind helping me out with the captions. best regards MPM2008

Actors pages

Just so you know, I was updating a lot of the actors pages with images of their faces, not just shots of them with guns. It was a personal choice, I know, but alot of the actor pages didn't even have decent screenshots. Since the actor page is for that actor, I tend to put more flattering shots of them for recognition purposes and then put another shot of them with a firearm. There is no rule for or against this, but I just wanted to let you know. A lot of the users create actor pages with NO images, so I've been updating them. The Female actors, I actually try to put up pics that don't make them look hideous. :) MPM2008 P.S.: I did Alex Reid, Jurgen Prochnow, Mira Sorvino, and Rachel Weisz where I focus more on them than the screengrab with a gun since most of the screen grabs focus more on the gun than the actor (rightfully so for the gun or movie page).

Re:Machine Pistol Category?

Actually Machine Pistol is the correct classification on these as the are made from pistols. The Sub Machine Gun designation by manufacturers and by ATF is a weapon that is carbine size but fires a pistol cartridge. The Machine Pistol is a pistol that is is developed in selective fire. That term has been around before ATF dates back to the First World War but had a different meaning. Machine Pistol back then meant Machine Gun Pistol Cartridge. I just figured that it should be correct on the site. Thanks - Phoenixent

M4 vs. M4A1

I always thought the M4-series had a detachable carry handle, meaning both the M4 and M4A1. Perhaps you are right. - Gunmaster45

Only the very earliest M4s delivered to the military had fixed carry handles. After that, both the M4 and M4A1 were only bought with detachable carry handles. The earliest M4s with the M16A2-style receivers were listed in the catalog as the Model 777 carbine and fired semi or burst. The first M4s with the flattop receivers were known as Model 920s, and they also fired semi or burst. So basically, the DoD bought a small shipment of Model 777 carbines initially and then switched to buying the Model 920, but they designated both guns as the "M4", even though they had different receiver styles. Also, the M4A1's catalog model number is Model 921, and differs from the Model 920 only in that it fires semi or full-auto. You have to understand that sometimes the military adopts slightly different versions of a particular gun, but gives them all the same designation. It also happened with the M249 (some of the earliest "M249s" in military service were actually standard factory FN Minimis, which are a bit different in design). -MT2008 22:51, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

The Marine AK

On The Marine page I had the AKs listed as Poly Tech Legends but you changed them to Type 56s. I was under the impression 56s had stamped recievers like an AKM, while PTL had milled recievers like older AKs, which is what the guns in the film had. Am I wrong? - Gunmaster45

I noticed the same thing tonight so I decided to put on the DVD and get some capping done. I'm not too good with some of the heavy artillery, I might add some of those later when I can do some intense identifying. If you see anything yourself, feel free to fix it up. Thanks - Speakeasy804

I noticed that you ran into a problem that I had previously with MT2008. Don't worry. Just backup some steps on your browser and you can retrieve all of your edits. Just don't close the Browser window and everything is retrievable. I worked for 2 hours on a page and didn't save it when MT2008 accidentally added a detail which screwed me up for a moment, but he pointed out correctly that edits are not lost, and can be retrieved by going backwards in the browser window. Just select all of your text in the edit window and paste it into a new edit window. Sure it will erase the other person's changes, but that's not hard to add on if it's worthwhile. MPM2008

AN/M14 incendiary grenade

Just a bit of info for you the correct spelling is AN-M14 Incendiary Grenade and not AN/M14 incendiary grenade like they have it wikipedia. ARMY MIL-G-12297H (1) GRENADE, HAND, INCENDIARY, TH3, AN-M14 is from this site http://aero-defense.ihs.com/document/abstract/KCRJDAAAAAAAAAAA and http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/3-23-30/ch1.htm which is Field Manual 3-23 - Phoenixent

Beretta M9

I notice you uploaded a Beretta M9 picture and changed many movie pages to feature this picture. However, the problem is that there are almost no real M9s in movies. As best I know, armorers always use the civilian 92F to substitute for the M9, even in movies where they're in the hands of U.S. soldiers. So I doubt you've ever seen a real M9 in a movie. There's a difference between what a particular army/police force uses in real life and the actual prop gun used in the movie. I explained this on the 92F page. -MT2008 03:33, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

CSI: NY

I've had this afternoon off, so I've been uploading a lot of screencaps for the CSI: NY page that you started. So far, I have screencapped the episodes, "Manhattan Manhunt", "Charge of This Post", "Snow Day", and "Heroes", all of which are pretty gun-heavy episodes. I'm hoping to do that episode which has the TDI Vector at some point this weekend. What do you think so far? -MT2008 20:24, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

call of duty: finest hour

i was wondering if you could screen cap finest hour if you could? thanks. User:Drjuki

Oh, well could you help me work on a Call of Duty: United Offensive page.

As you have seen i have finished a united offensive, since you said you have it i was wondering if you could add descriptions and screencaps, that would be great. Drjuki

P.S I see you have some british weapons filled in and some not. Are they not in there, or did i do some thing wrong? User:Drjuki

I see you have Call Of Duty: World at War Final fronts when you're done with UO could you maybe start screen capping that? I only have Call of Duty 3. It's only for Wii though so any guns in multiplayer I can't screen cap. My friend's letting me borrow Finst Hour, My friend also haves 2, 2: Big Red One, and i just got 4, and 5 for DS so I got alot on my hands. User:Drjuki

Star Trek (Original Series)

Nice Job on this page. I believe that the Thompsons are 1921AC if notice on the barrel it has flats on both sides exactly like the ones used in Sahara. I will check with Syd Stembridge as Stembridge Gun Rentals was located on Paramont lot at the time of filming. - Steve

I actually don't have anything like that currently (I know, it's bad). I'm trying to get on AIM but I haven't gotten around to it yet. If you need to send me a private message or anything like that, you can always message me on the forum. Sorry I can't be more help. - Gunmaster45

Re: Bravo

No problem, Orca. Those templates didn't look good at all, and no one approved of them anyway. You'd think it would occur to the user who made them that they didn't look right when he first used them, but obviously not. Anyway the site will be far better off without them. Great job on Courage Under Fire, Iron Eagle, In the Army Now and The Hunt for Red October by the way, they look awesome.--Alienqueen11 03:16, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

That's great, it's cool to see you're able to upload Screenshots now. Yeah, It's too bad you can't get games with that, it would be great if I was able to do game screenshots, there are quite a few games I would like to screencap. But anyway, can't wait to see your next articles.--Alienqueen11 05:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

KF7 Soviet

It'll fire a single shot in aim mode and it's stuck in three-round burst only when not sighting [so, um, it's a special AK with the fire selector as a pressure switch on the back of the stock, I guess?]. The reason I identified it as an AK-47 is that's what the developers said it was back when they were using real gun names; see http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/goldeneye/images/7/76/Kalashnikov_AK47.png for proof of this; similarly, the AR33 was called "Commando M16A/2" in the Beta version. I'm not sure how you can call the rocket launcher a specific RPG-7 derivative since I don't know many versions that are enormous grey cylinders, that's why I went with the generic 'RPG-7' label. Dongs 05:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Seven Days

Would you be OK if I did some more work on the Seven Days page that you started? I have some of the episodes of this show and would like to upload screencaps, and correct information. The images aren't particularly high-quality, though. -MT2008 02:03, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

One other question...why did you remove all the spacing I put on the AK-47 page? Don't you think it looks really shitty when some of the gun entries (like the Norinco Type 84) bleed into the other sections? It really needed that extra spacing. -MT2008 17:35, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Template

To the mods: Though my own preference is strongly towards chronological order, I can accede to the wishes of the majority. I do like the format of Title First, before actor. Please note all, in the Steyr AUG page that the title, then character, then actor template, dovetails nicely into the other genres (television) but also Anime and Video games. Since there is no Character in some and no Actor in Anime or Videgame, I think this order maintains the same look from Film all the way down to VG. Thanks and please look at the page to see what I was referring to. Thanks again and I look forward to your input on this matter. MoviePropMaster2008 04:29, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Candian Gun Laws

In response to your question on my profile, yes, Canadians are allowed to privately own firearms. You require a Possession and Acquistion Liscence (PAL) for firearms, for which you have to take a safety course and submit to a background check. All firearms except antiques have to be registered, and there are some fairly lenient storage requirements. There are 3 classes of firearm - non-restricted, restricted and prohibited.

Non restricted basically covers any manually operated long gun, and hunting semi-autos. Restricted is basically non-concealable handguns (anything with a barrel over 4") and a very short list of semi-auto rifle (AR-15s, mainly) - these require an Authorization To Transport when you want to take them outside your house - usually you just phone in and they fax you one, takes 5 minutes.

There are 6 classes of prohibited firearms, basically full autos, converted autos, a specific list which basically covers almost any semi-auto versions of full auto guns, and concealable pistols. You can't get a liscense for prohibited firearms, but those who had them before the current laws came in in 1995 can continue owning them.

I don't necessarily like our laws, but I live with them. Some of ours are better than in the US, with regards to shipping and import / export.

Here's another.

"User:653 buy amoxil‎". You'd think they'd at least *try* to be subtle. Vangelis 12:24, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

page re-directs

Hey, I noticed that on the Light It Up page, you changed the page link to Glock 17 under the entry. You do realize that we have made page re-directs for many of the guns, that one included, so that if you type Glock 17 on a page, it automatically goes to Glock 17, so that you don't have to waste time typing additional code? I'm not upset or anything, I just thought I'd point that out so that you can save yourself the trouble of typing in unnecessary code.

Oh, and BTW, nice job on that page. I hadn't seen the movie in years, but I thought I remembered the semi-auto sniper rifle being a Valmet M78. Now we know for sure... -MT2008 03:25, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Courage Under Fire - FN Minimi

It's unlikely that the SAW used by Lou Diamond Phillips in Courage Under Fire is a Canadian C9; I think it's just a very early-model FN Minimi. As best I know, the first production Minimis from the 1970s had the open front sight (if you check World Guns, you'll see they have a picture of a Minimi which has this style sight), but FN later switched to the hooded front sight. For whatever reason, the C9 retains the earlier style sight, but this is not necessarily a distinguishing characteristic. Also, this movie was filmed in the U.S. and the guns used were provided by an American armory, so they're more likely to be genuine FN weapons. -MT2008 20:47, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Template

I'm glad you picked the box-column page template, since I think that looks the best. To make it look as good as possible, I suggest you fill in all columns (with unknown or none if not known) so boxes are filled in all spots and no empty holes are left. Look at the guy from Spider-Man's page to see how I fixed it.

Also, we've been modifying the redirects on page links now, so instead of writing [[Beretta 92 pistol series#Beretta 92FS Inox|Beretta 92FS Inox], which takes a long time, you can just write Beretta 92FS Inox, which saves time. Just make sure to check and make sure the link exists before you save your work. Matt seems to have left you a message on this earlier, but you may have missed it. - Gunmaster45

Template Layout

Hi Everyone, Now that I am back let's talk about the page layout template. On the forum we had one item brought up about the chronological order being reversed. Also another item was brought up about putting lies or boxing in the information. As admin it is up to us to police the site and make a decision that is agreed upon by the majority of admins and then implemented. Let's all go back to the Talk:Test Template Page and nail these last issues down. As we talk about it pages have been created and might need to be corrected so there is a standard look to all the gun and actor pages. Thanks for you input and help on the. - Phoenixent

RE: Megan Fox

I made a page for her because I have a quote from her on the main page and don't want her page to be a red/dead link. Okay? - Gunmaster45

For the record, if an actor page has a picture of the actor but the actor hasn't used any guns, that doesn't mean the page doesn't need to be made. On pages when an actor's creditidation is red linked, it is preferable that there name links to a blue (IE completed) page. And you never know, it's always useful to already have a page made should an actor use guns in the future. - Gunmaster45

Daybreak MP5

Templates on the M16 page

I think the one you used is the old version; the current standard seems to have the middle fields in the videogame table as 'Referred as' and 'mods' (some also have a "notes" field, I'm not sure what's standard) rather than 'mods' and 'passwords,' since it was determined the 'passwords' field is largely useless. Vangelis 08:35, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Why are you putting mines in the gun category?

It seems a little odd to find 'Category:Gun' at the bottom of a page about a landmine. If we're going to have a super-category for all weapons, shouldn't it be 'Category: Weapon'? Vangelis 11:41, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Hm. I'll have a look into how Wiki categories work sometime and see if it can be fixed so the supergroup is 'Weapon' rather than 'Gun' without editing every single page individually, though it'd need someone to modify the sidebar to point to that category rather than 'gun.' Still, worth looking into. Vangelis 11:55, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Can you believe this guy?

Yournamehere thinks he can come to my page and change the format I prefer because he doesn't like it. How is my format not orderly. It's pissing me off. I mean look at my Black Lagoon Page. My username in AA 2.8 is -[o]-Alfonsolo266 & my username in AA 3.0 is Eris Kesen (I play AA 3.0 over Steam with username Kesen 72) As for training on AA 2.8 I have all training completed and a marksmen score of 37/40 (I think) For AA 3.0 I have most training complete except marksmen since it never saves my progress. --AdAstra2009 01:58, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

For AA 3.0 my soldier name is Eris Kesen, I'll grab that incendiary grenade screenshot for you. --AdAstra2009 02:49, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

AA Screenshots

Well I got not only the Incendiary but look what I came across as well.

Editing Flight of the Intruder

No problem now. Thanks for your understanding. The only real concern is when making a lot of edits before saving, one either has the choice of giving up all those edits or overwriting what the other user did as far as their editing went. Thanks for your understanding. MoviePropMaster2008 07:52, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

RE AA Screenshots

The MP5SDs were wielded by AI Opfor on the Snakeplain Map, unfortunately as soon as you kill them the MP5SD's they are carrying morph into AKSU74s. --AdAstra2009 21:48, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

50 Cent

Actually, he goes by just 50 Cent on IMDB, since that's the name by which most people know him. But anyway, I just made a re-direct from my 50 Cent page to the new one you made. I don't think it matters too much if people want to use either one. -MT2008 02:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

America's Army

Hey Orca, do you play AA 2.8 or 3.0 mostly? --AdAstra2009 00:23, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Someone made a change on the Miami Vice - Season 3 page in the Smith & Wesson Model 686 section. He wrote ni&&ers below one of the pics.--Predator20 01:17, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Rules and Standards

I guess you missed this section that's already under 1) Standards "This site documents gun appearances in professional media only. More specifically, this applies to user-made flash games," :) We could put the clarification under that existing section. MoviePropMaster2008 00:27, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Escape from New York

If I have the wrong person, I apologize. Why did you label it as incomplete? What weapon did I miss? As for the gun on the DVD cover, I don't know why anybody is bothering about it as it is not seen in the film.--Predator20 21:12, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Trivia

Yeah, but that's a ridiculous amount of trivia from one of our members who seems to LOVE TONs and TONS and TONS of unrelated Trivia. Don't move the small amounts off of pages. Now if someone wants to fix the T2 page, then I'm all for it, but there is Trivia that is small and inobtrusive and then there is Trivia which is just a MASSIVE diversion off topic on the page. I against moving small trivia, it is unnecessary. Now when someone puts MASSIVE amounts of non-firearms related stuff, that's when IMFDB needs to move it off the main movie page. MoviePropMaster2008 07:15, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Case Closed

Sorry for that. I watched the movies in Japanese just to screencap them. So I failed to understand the character names, etc. Now I will have to read the synopsis of the movie in Wikipedia and put in the info.--SB2296 09:17, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Helmet

Yes it is. It is a DH-132S/DH-132AS. I got it at an antique store in Kentucky for $40. Has "A31" scratched into the right earpiece, so I'm guessing it was issued.-protoAuthor 02:05, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

About Baghira pistol

There is currently an argument about it's designation: MR-444 (quote from SB2296: "I moved the page because I saw that the Wikipedia page also had the title of MR-444", the unsourced Wikipedian article most certainly based on BF2 used term, or MP-444 (sources [1]], [2], etc.) and basically following the line of Russian MP pistols. --Masterius 17:19, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Transformers 2 screencaps

I noticed that your screencaps seem to be squashed. Make sure that you have your screencapping program's (VLC?) aspect ratio set to "auto" or "16:9". You can also use a photoediting program such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager to crop the black bars off your caps. --Ben41 23:22, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Need Help with the S.W.A.T. 4 page

Hi,

I'm in need of your help again, this time with the S.W.A.T. 4 page. There's quite a few weapons I can't identify the exact model of, such as the Colt DMR (it may be an accurized AR-15 model of some sort), the exact model of the Colt M1911 pistol (it has an odd-looking hammer and an underbarrel mounting for a flashlight), the flashbang/tear gas/sting grenades, and the exact model of the ingame MP5 (no MP5 variant I know of has only semiautomatic and three-round burst fire modes). The model of the breaching shotgun also eludes me, as does the two-shot "Cobra" taser ingame. If you can confirm the identities of the weapons already with screenshots or help find out the real identities of those still unknown, I'd be grateful.--Mazryonh 06:42, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

RE: Model 733

(This is in response to your question on MoviePropMaster2008's page)

The Model 733 can have either an A1, Model 715, or A2-style upper receiver. I was confused about this myself for a while. -MT2008 14:02, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

I asked MPM why he didn't just upload over that old picture, and he said it's because the Model 715 (which is what he photographed) and the C7 (which is what the old picture represents) are two different guns, but I disagreed with him. I'm with you...I think we should just ditch the old one and use his instead. -MT2008 19:53, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
IN response to MT2008, it's the PURIST in me :) LOL. Since the older pic is MARKED Colt Canada C7, then it's a true C7 in my eyes. My photo was of an american Colt Rifle which was essentially the same rifle, but not marked C7 or Canada in any way. I suppose it's really nit picking, but the file name said "Diemcao C7" and I didn't want a rifle which was technically NOT a Diemaco C7 identified (via the file name) to be called a C7. Hope that helps. MoviePropMaster2008 20:26, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

733

I don't believe that I made that change. The only change I made was the (a) new photo and (b) removed the notation that the existing photo was a chopped Sporter Carbine made to resemble a 733 for movie purposes. That's it. Any other informational change was made by someone else. As for the A1 versus A2 upper statement, there are photographic examples of both A1 & A2 uppers on the 733, but the only production photos I've found (or examples) have the A1 (with brass deflector upper) like in the movie Heat. Colt did make bastardized guns with the same model number. Also gunsmiths and title II manufacturers have installed the 733 barrels on A2 uppers to retrofit registered full auto guns, so real life franken guns are all over the place. The Colt records I have found are also Contradictory. One matrix of production models notes specifically that the 733 was made with A1 rear sights and a brass deflector. Another production list notes that the 733 had A2 rear sights. MoviePropMaster2008 20:22, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages

Thanks, for helping me with those disambiguation pages. I was the one who created this idea of disambiguation pages. BTW do you think of any improvements to these pages?--SB2296 11:08, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

RE: Andromeda Strain

No problem. I actually have this show, too, now. Though I'm pretty busy at the moment, so if I do cap it, it won't be for roughly another week (and I have lots of other pages I plan to do before then). -MT2008 02:02, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Haha, yeah, I was just tired when I wrote that. Normally, I'd know better (or, at least, I'd hope I would). :) -MT2008 16:02, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

2012 Screencaps

What software are you using to screencap? It seems that your shots are still set to 4x3 and not 16x9. Also, could you please clip off the black bars on the top and bottom? Thanks. --Ben41 00:52, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

HK33

The full auto HK33 only came with two choices for mags, the 25 rounder and the 40 rounder. All examples of the HK33 in foreign police armories and Title II collectors have one or the other. I've seen 30 round magazines for the 5.56 round in the early 1980s and this was sold with the semi auto only HK93, but HK has no official documentation on when they started or stopped making it. So far, all the full auto HK33s I've seen have only the 25 or 40, but the 30 did (and does exist, I photographed one for IMFDB) but a lot of the foreign machine gun owners look at it and scratch their heads, so it must have been a U.S. Semi auto civilian sales only item. But this is conjecture. I am obviously eager to be 'corrected' by an expert on the matter. I wish a rep from HK would visit the site from time to time (but then, they think we suck and they hate us ;) MoviePropMaster2008 19:48, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

I appreciate the gesture, but I don't want other images on that page since I'm doing so much work getting MPM style photos of all the variants. Also since it is a work in progress and I've done MONTHS of research and it isn't a standard IMFDB page, I tend to discourage anyone else from making changes. It is not like a regular IMFDB movie, television, Anime, VG page where anyone can edit it. In fact I will probably remove this page from any category until it is done. Thanks anyway. :) MoviePropMaster2008 00:46, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Reorganize Mauser C96

Hey, I was just wondering if I could reorganize the Mauser C96 page. I was going to change it from a list to a table and properly order the dates of the different medias. Since this is your page, I just want your permission before I start messing around with the page. Thanks, --ThePotShot 01:28, 26 May 2010 (UTC) PS: I was also wondering if I could also do the same thing to the Sig P230 page. Thanks again

I finished with the C96 page but if you can, you should double check it as I am not too familiar with the C96 so some of the information that I edited may be wrong. Thanks, --ThePotShot 21:55, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey thanks for the help with the M16 forward assist, and best of luck in the Army

Project Reality

Excuse me, but may I ask why you reverted my minor edit regarding the Negav GPMG? It being a select-fire belt-fed MG is more notable than it simply being a select-fire MG, like the assault-rifle based LMGs (L86 LSW, and the SAW variant of the QBZ-95), unless I happen to have messed up badly.--HashiriyaR32 04:43, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Inert ordnance

I know that guy. I've bought from him before. I think he is thanking you for deleting the file, not realizing that we have another one. ANY person can request that we delete their copyrighted images. I think we SHOULD delete it and look for another online image. They take the time to photograph their products for their own catalog, so they have the right to demand its' deletion from IMFDB. MoviePropMaster2008 21:12, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Cool guy

That's good. I didn't want to irritate him. You're right. he is a cool guy and I don't want to abuse him. If he has no problem with the site, that's all I need to know :) MoviePropMaster2008 21:28, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Behind Enemy Lines screencaps

You look like you still have your media player set to 4x3, make sure that it's set to 16:9 or "Auto". That way your screencaps won't look squashed. Also, you can use FastStone jpeg viewer to crop the black bars off. Thanks.

Super Soaker

Chillax, bro. Just thought it would be amusing. There are a few in-movie toy guns on here, just look at The Rock.-protoAuthor 13:14, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Cowboy Bebop Article

Hey, thanks for picking up my slack and helping out on the Cowboy Bebop article, cleaning it up and such. I think we're gonna be able to remove that "Incomplete" tag pretty soon.-protoAuthor 00:38, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Creating Actor Pages

When creating the actor pages, could you please put the "Title" category before the notes category? I've modified the Kim Coates page to reflect this. Thanks.

Also, please make sure when you're screencapping that you set your media player to 16:9 widescreen and that you crop the black bars off as well. --Ben41 00:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

You're still using your old template. How come you're not using the correct table formatting like I mentioned before? I've changed the Erik Palladino page so you can use that as a template. --Ben41 03:18, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Deleted File

Listen, I'm a little new to this wiki and I'd Like to know why You deleted a photo I uploaded not even 15 minutes before. I upload it so there would be a picture of a Springfield M1903A3 with a C-Stock. and can tell me wat exactly you mean by "Duplicated file" because I saw no picture that was exactly like it on this site. - Kilgore 10:32, 12 July 2010

Show Me this Picture. - Kilgore 10:59, 12 July 2010

That 03A3 does not have C-Stock and is in much better condition then the one you came up with is the same thing, so I'm uploading the picture again and including it with the other Springfield Rifles. - Kilgore

RE Hooah

Thanks. I graduated from Infantry School at Fort Benning last April and I went to basic in January so I've been in for a little over 6 months now. I just barely got the expert badge with the minimum score to qualify for it(36 out of 40). I haven't played America's Army too much , but that's mainly because I've been busy ever since I got back. Even though I'm in the Army National Guard and it's technically a reserve force, it still eats up ALOT of my time and now it's like my life revolves around the guard; and when I do have free time I play games that I bought like Arma 2 and Red Dead Redemption. --AdAstra2009 05:43, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Voyager edits

The article is tagged Incomplete. Incomplete = Work In Progress = Awful looks. You cant expect something that is being worked on to look good overall. MoviePropMaster2008 is pretty sure that there are AP9´s somewhere in Voyager. Inputting false information or deleting the entire section seems pointless (deletion would make the effort of writing it again necessary, though I am not sure whether this could also be done through a simple revert, I haven´t been editing long enough to know that).

I will keep my hands off for now. --Milkovich 18:17, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Battlefield Earth Please Crop the black bars and set to 16:9

I know I've let you know about this several times, but please, please crop the black bars and set your video player to widescreen 16:9 BEFORE you upload you screenshots. I've redone Pearl Harbor and The Sum of All Fears so you can see what it should look like. If you have any questions about it, please let me know. --Ben41 22:34, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
