MG08 ?

The first cap looks like stock footage of American troops, given the uniforms. And in the second cap, the machine gun appears to feed from the left, while the MG08 fed from the right. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:36, 27 April 2013 (EDT)

I think that you are right, it's a Vickers with smooth barrel cover. The muzzle is also Vickers-like. Greg-Z (talk) 15:44, 27 April 2013 (EDT)

Hollywood movie trivia

Hollywood World War II films produced during World War II featured Germans wearing WWI helmets (probably all the costume houses had) with extra large helmet decals and eagles over their pockets.
