Adding pictures to page
When adding pictures to a page, please make sure you put |thumb|none|500px after the filename in order to make the picture a thumbnail. Otherwise the screenshot will not appear correctly in the page. Take a look at the Alphaville for the correct way. Thanks. --Ben41 09:19, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Revolving rifle
Do you plan on doing a page for Son of Paleface? Because we don't usually make a page for a gun unless there's actually a media page on the site that actually features the weapon. --Ben41 11:16, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Classic movie
My youth age - British, French and Italian comedies and adventure films 60´ and 70´ years, is I prefer. Jean Marais, Jean-Paul-Belmondo, Niven, Savalas, Bronson, Delon, Ursula Andress, Claudia Cardinale, Ornella Muti, Ugo Tognazzi etc.--Pandolfini 08:17, 10 June 2012 (CDT)
- It's a pleasure to have you on board. I'l be going to Europe on holiday for 4 months from Wednesday. It's always been odd to me when meeting the trendies who boast about seeing a film only because it's French or Italian. My childhood was full of European action films that have all vanished until recently. Here the only European films we get are mostly people acting like spoiled children at dinner parties, we don't see the fine action films like Special Forces getting a cinema release.Foofbun 19:32, 10 June 2012 (CDT)
I, for one, unfortunately I know nothing. The only German films of those years I saw the famous Die Brücke (1959). And this I have not.--Pandolfini 10:46, 11 June 2012 (CDT)
- The Bridge has been popular here too, but none of the German action films (Kommissar X, Jerry Cotton or war films like The Green Devils of Monte Casino) have made it onto DVD or TV though we have the usual German talk fests and films where people argue the entire time are everywhere....Foofbun 17:01, 11 June 2012 (CDT)
Wrecking Crew
Where were these weapons in the film? I went through it pretty fast. --Ben41 (talk) 18:41, 4 September 2015 (EDT)
A Trip to the Moon
Even if there were some way to properly ID the rifle, it has a running time of 16 minutes (at best), which means it's a short film, and thus ineligible. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:45, 12 December 2016 (EST)
- Oh, thanks for that. Perhaps an exception could be made as 'first major science fiction film' as many of these pre and very early 20th Century films were as short as home movies? I see you have separate categories for TV shows or actors who did a series of short subjects, ala The Three Stooges'. I kind of like the idea that journos could cover the IMFDB "going from 'A Trip to the Moon' to the latest release". Hope in the interest of whimsy for the season someone does Santa Claus Conquers the Martians with its Waham-O Air Blasters and Johnny Seven OMAs. Oh and a Very Happy Christmas and New Year to you and everyone else on IMFDB!Foofbun (talk) 17:01, 12 December 2016 (EST)
- I wasn't aware we had a separate category for short subjects. And I did include a Wham-O Air Blaster on the Man from UNCLE page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:14, 12 December 2016 (EST)
- Well, merry early/late Christmas then! --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:55, 13 December 2016 (EST)
Technical issues
Bunni, who owns the site and keeps the lights on, is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. I always start on the Recent Changes page myself. --Funkychinaman (talk) 06:47, 23 June 2017 (EDT) Thanks Chinaman! Just saw Blindfold where Guy Stockwell uses an AR-10. Say, a question you can maybe relay to those who know...a while back there was some little box on your site saying would I like an IMFDB news letter. (I think it is on now as well). I ticked 'Yes' and not only is there no newsletter but I've been getting these large ads that overwhelm the site (unlike the small ones in the corner). Is there an IMFDB newsletter or was it a scam to get ads on people's computer?Foofbun (talk) 17:35, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
- I didn't sign up for it, due to the concerns you're voicing now, but there IS a newsletter. I access it via the IMFDB.org Facebook page, so I'm not sure how email delivery is supposed to work. The latest issue came out just three days ago. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:54, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
- Thanks, I don't have Facebook or other social media. Wikipedia has a military newsletter called 'The Bugle' that appears on user's chat pages if they desireFoofbun (talk) 19:32, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Foofbun II
Did you apply for a second account? --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:27, 17 November 2020 (EST)
- Hi Funky. Originally I did when I forgot my password (have retired, moved to the coastal country, became a writer, etc). I couldn't get through the thing if you forgot the password, so thought I'd just apply for a new, but similar to the old login. Since then I remembered my password, so you can get rid of the Foofbun II application. Thanks for getting back to me and it's nice to be back at IMFDB. Foofbun II is through...Foofbun (talk) 03:10, 18 November 2020 (EST)
- Okay, thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:13, 18 November 2020 (EST)
