Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man
|
Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man (original name Uomini si nasce poliziotti si muore) is a 1976 Italian crime movie directed by Ruggero Deodato. Two Italian police officers Alfredo (Marc Porel) and Antonio (Ray Lovelock) are members of a "special squad" ("death squad" in fact). They are waging a war against criminals using blood-and-dirty methods. It's worth noting that the literally translation of the title is "Men are born, cops dies" which has different sense with the IMDb version of the title.
The following weapons are seen in the movie Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man:
Revolvers
Arminius HW-3
Both Alfredo (Marc Porel) and Antonio (Ray Lovelock) prefer Arminius HW-3 revolvers.
Unidentified revolver
In the final scene the chief of "special squad" (Adolfo Celi) also appears with a revolver that is seen only from muzzle.
Pistols
Walther P38
During the scene with the hostage one of Ruggero's henchmen is armed with Walther P38 pistol. In another scene Alfredo (Marc Porel) and Antonio (Ray Lovelock) use P38 pistols with sound suppressor to kill five criminals in the crowd. Antonio also uses P38 during the shootout in the sandpit.
Beretta Model 70
One of Pasquini's hitmen is armed with Beretta Model 70 during the shootout in the sandpit.
Submachine guns
Beretta Model 38/42
During the scene with the hostage several carabinieri are seen with Beretta Model 38/42 submachine guns.
FNA-B 43
During the scene with the hostage Ruggero "The Dog" Ruggerini (Franco Citti) and one of his henchmen are armed with FNA-B 43 submachine guns. In the scene of the failed robbery two robbers are armed with FNA-B 43. Several carabinieri are also seen with these SMGs. FNA-B 43 is a very rare weapon: only about 7,000 was produced in 1943-44.
Shotguns
Smith & Wesson 916A
Pasquini's hitman (Bruno Di Luia) used a Smith & Wesson 916A shotgun to kill an undercover police officer who was Alfredo's and Antonio's close friend.
Double Barreled Shotgun
One of Pasquini's hitmen is armed with double barreled shotgun during the shootout in the sandpit. This is an old-fashioned Italian lupara with sawn-off barrels but intact stock.
Rifles
Mauser 98 Sporter
During the scene with the hostage police snipers are armed with Mauser Sporter rifles with sniper scopes. Two of Pasquini's hitmen use these rifles during the shootout in the sandpit.
