Direct Hit is a 1994 action movie directed by Joseph Merhi and Paul G. Volk and starring William Forsythe as Hatch, a hitman on CIA service. Hatch plans to retire but his superior James Tronson (George Segal) gives him one last mission: to assassinate a young woman who, as Tronson says, blackmails the politician Terry Daniels (John Aprea).
The following weapons were used in the film Direct Hit:
Hatch (William Forsythe) carries a pair of Glock pistols, a Glock 17 and a Glock 19, sometimes used with sound suppressor. In several scenes Hatch dual-wields Glocks. During the encounter in Deets' house he gives Glock 17 to Savannah (Jo Champa). Some mobsters carry Glock pistols during the shootout in restaurant.
Beretta 92FS pistols are widely used by mobsters during the shootout in restaurant and by CIA operatives, including Rogers (Richard Norton), and police officers throughout the movie. In one scene Hatch (William Forsythe) takes a Beretta from Phelps (Gary Roberts) and uses it in the following shootout.
In the scene in restaurant gun dealer Kovar (Mel Novak) shows a Desert Eagle Mark VII, fitted with underbarrel laser aiming device; he claims the gun to be Zimmerman XT1 with laser sighting, brought from the Gulf War. Kovar uses this pistol during the car chase. In the climactic shootout one of CIA operatives uses same looking gun. This gun appear to be the same prop that is seen in Zero Tolerance and Cyber Tracker, filmed the same year and sharing the same armorer.
A Wildey Hunter with 8" barrel and underbarrel sighting device is seen among the guns, presented by Kovar in the opening scene. Later a Wildey is seen in Hatch's armory. In the final scene one of CIA operatives uses a Wildey.
Heckler & Koch SP89 with laser sighting device is seen among the guns, presented by Kovar in the opening scene. He claims it to be Uzi Blank 12 from Afghanistan. Same looking gun is used by a CIA operative in the final scene. Hatch (William Forsythe) uses a standard SP89 as his main gun in the climactic shootout.
A Heckler & Koch MP5K-style SMG is seen in Hatch's armory. Due to ribbed SD-looking forends it appears to be a Daisy replica (same is seen in Zero Tolerance that shares the same armorer).
One of the mobsters in restaurant is armed with the Steyr SPP. SPP is also briefly hold by Hatch (William Forsythe) instead of his Glock in a continuity error.
Direct Hit is the only screen appearance of SerLea double barreled submachine gun (see Trivia section for the info about this gun). It is used by a CIA operative during the climactic shootout.
Mossberg 500 Bullpup shotguns are seen in hands of CIA operatives, notably used by Rogers (Richard Norton) in the final scene. The shots have the effect of high explosive missiles.
SerLea (or SerLea-ACE) is a double barreled submachine gun, designed by a Lebanese gunsmith who brought the design to the USA in 1990. Los Angeles Police Department showed interest in the design but rejected the proposal at last. A single prototype, owned by Arms Craft & Engineering (hence ACE in the name), was loaned to a movie studio and appeared in Direct Hit (all firearms for the movie were supplied by Arms Craft & Engineering and advised by armourer Micha Hamilton).
The weapon has twin barrels, twin magazines, and twin bolts, with a synchronizing device to turn the weapon into a single high rate of fire submachine gun. It is claimed that the weapon may fire one barrel at a time only if one magazine is inserted but in the movie SerLea fires both barrels alternately (see screenshots).
