Olympic 6

Well, i thought that only this photo, what remained, can be deletion candidate. It was smaller then others. Can you return pictures with composite and wooden plated and remove current picture from the page ? And can you return other picture in a discussion page ? I think, that current picture's place in discussion page. --Kloga 10:43, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks ! :) --Kloga 17:26, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for correcting...

My incorrect screen in Manhunter page. Here is what it used to be actually. --Kloga 17:00, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Zero hour

Hey! try writing a summary of the show, where it is broadcast, what years it runs, etc. don't assume everyone knows the show. Thanks again. MPM2008

I gave as much information I had but couldn't find a proper picture for the article.Sorry for it.-SB2296

Will update Zero Hour page with new guns soon-SB2296

Ghajini

Thanks for the information, AK-47 is included with screen shots.ritwikbmca 16:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

New Template Layout

Hi SB, Thanks for helping out with the weapons pages. Just to let you know we have a new layout on the Talk:Test Template Page that has the tile first and the year last. If you any help contact me. -Phoenixent 06:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey SB, Nice work that you have been doing on the weapons pages. Thanks for your help as this is going to be a big project change it over. -Steve 04:45, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I also agree with MT2008 that there should be a seperate column for episodes in the television section.

Actually, I'm beginning to think maybe I shouldn't have made my suggestion about the Television column, because the problem is that when guns appear on shows, they tend to appear on MANY episodes, not just one. In which case, the only thing the column will say is, "Various episodes" or something to that extent. I think a better idea is to just briefly mention episodes and other details (such as how the character uses the gun - i.e. "Standard sidearm of ______") in the "Notes" column. -MT2008 15:16, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Max Payne 2

I'm not sure if you've got a development screenshot of it, but the MP5 in the final game has a reflex sight and no suppressor, if I recall correctly. I was planning to do caps for that at some point, the trouble is it doesn't have a proper screenshot function so I'd have to get them individually using Print Screen. Vangelis 09:57, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Kaminey

Thanks brother for those nice screen caps. Realy nice work. Are you in India? ritwikbmca 18:58, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

New York

Thanks brother, I've replaced all the screencaps with new ones, and also uploaded some new images. However I could not identify two pistols. Could you please have a look at it? ritwikbmca 18:50, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

I am hoping to see the Shadow in coming week. I will start the article on next week, after having seen it. I am currently adding content to New York. And after this I will rewrite the LOC Kargil. ritwikbmca 07:36, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Table format

I cant make out why did you change the table format on INSAS? the format which have used up there was better than this one, because this is stand alone table, but mine is sortable. ritwikbmca 10:35, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

But why that would be confusing, it is same as the standard layout. The only difference is that it provides the flexibility to sort the columns in ascending or descending order, while the standard table format does not. standard layout for the weapons page is a bit obsolete compared to this one.

I guess you have an xbox or playstation, and you play games a lot. I am a postgraduate student at the university of calcutta. what is your name by the way ritwikbmca

I usually dont get much time to play games. Last game I played about a year ago was dracula origin.ritwikbmca 15:33, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, thats one of my favourite show. I also like weapons masters, and war documentaries on history channel. ritwikbmca
Is 2296 related to your birthday? which school are you in ritwikbmca
But FOX History comes through airtel digital tv.ritwikbmca, I think other service providers also provide that. ritwikbmca
Happy Mahalaya, I've created this one, Template:Infobox Movie, tell me if you like it. ritwikbmca 14:38, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
I've rewritten the LOC Kargil using that ritwikbmca 16:30, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes I can create that, but the problem is, I cant decide which are the most relevant points to be included in the infoboxes. What are the most important points tobe shown in television infobox, which will be exclusive for IMFDB. Can you please help me out on this? ritwikbmca 11:47, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Re:

Yep, done. -MT2008 14:21, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Case Closed Pages

I labeled the Case Closed pages as incomplete because they are just that; incomplete. There are no captions on the pictures, no weapon useage descriptions, and not even any video cover pics. Until these things are added and the articles are completed, those tags WILL remain on those articles. Orca1 9904 09:10, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Nambu Model 60 revolver

Added some info about the revolver itself and a less than satisfying photo.Left the template alone. Unfortunately the little B&W photo was the only photo I could find. I had considered creating a page for the Model 60 in the past, but I was unaware if it had ever made an appearance in any type of movie/television/anime production.Glad to see somebody got it going. --Jcordell 22:49, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Glad to help. --Jcordell 09:30, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Re: Global Operations

Yeah, that's definitely either a later production L1A1, or a Canadian C1A1. You can tell by the front sight and the fact that the hand guard has only two ventilation holes. I can't remember what they call it in the game (since I haven't played Global Operations in about 8 years now). The SG550 is not the Sniper version; the SG550 Sniper model has a different barrel and stock (see http://remtek.com/arms/sig/sniper/550snip.htm for a picture). -MT2008 21:33, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Good eyes. Yes, that is the AW50F.
Something else I noticed...in many of the screenshots of the game I've seen, the AK seems to have a magazine with less of a curve. The image you've posted shows a Type 56, but the in-game model seems to be the similar Type 84 in .223. The Canadian armory which rented weapons to the developers seems to keep lots of Type 84 rifles in inventory. -MT2008 17:51, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
I just re-installed Global Operations for the first time in years (I found the CD while I was over at my parents' house this weekend) and have been playing it again in single-player. Anyway, the AK in the game is definitely a Chinese Type 84 rifle, which, as I've said, is because the armorer who provided the weapons to the developers for 3D modeling/animation has a lot of those in inventory. Every time the gun is reloaded, you can see it has the Type 84-style magazine, and the world_view model (the one not seen in first-person POV) has the same magazine shape. I'm not sure where the model in the picture you posted came from...is it in the instruction manual? -MT2008 23:19, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm guessing those images were taken before the final (Gold) version of the game hit store shelves. Maybe one of the 3D artists changed the AK model later on, though why he would do this is beyond me. But anyway, the gun that appears in the final game is definitely the Type 84, not the Type 56. -MT2008 19:03, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Army of Two:The 40th Day

I'm wondering are you going to screencap the game as well or am I going to repete what i did for the first game? As they say that you can add any part to any gun I'd just get images of the standard guns this time. Rockwolf66 17:33, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Operation Flashpoint 2

Thanks for adding the M99 to the page. I'm a bit in over my head in this wiki stuff. GunEnthusiast 01:50, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

The incomplete template on Operation Flashpoint

I only added it to acknowledge that the page isn't complete (which it isn't, many screencaps are yet to be taken), not to cast aspersions on the quality of it (or I would have used the {{Noeffort}} template, which would be silly since it clearly has had effort put into it, mostly my own). Anyway, the incomplete tag was just a formality until the page is complete, I don't mind that you removed it, I just wanted to clarify why I put it there in the first place. :)

By the way, nice page, and thumbs up for liking the Hitman series, they're great games. --MattyDienhoff 08:26, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, but no, it would be Far Cry 2 that takes that prize.
About the MP5, I never understood: what is the difference between the SEF and Navy trigger groups? They're both safe/semi/auto, so why the distinction? MP5 model numbers are complicated enough... --MattyDienhoff 19:47, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Bad Company 2 Beretta M93R

Why did you undo my edit on the M93R? The R does stand for Raffica, which is Italian for Burst. Any good reason why that shouldn't be there? Also, if you absolutely have to remove it, do rewrite the rest of the description to actually make sense.

http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg137-e.htm

- Mutant1988

Bad Company 2 MP-412 REX

Again, why remove the description of what the name (REX) stands for? It stands for Revolver for EXport. I see no reason to omit that.

http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg49-e.htm

- Mutant1988

Quit editing a page I'm working on...

....when I'm in the middle of working on it. It messes me up when my edit gets frozen/locked up because "there is an interim Edit which conflicts with the edit". thank you. MoviePropMaster2008 09:35, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

RE: Desert Eagle

Thank you so much for your help! I greatly appreciate it, as I haven't played too many of those games (and there were so many pages to go through). -MT2008 00:41, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

G3

If that is the episode of the North Hollywood shootout, the gun used was a Tokyo Marui SG1 (impersonating an HK91), modified with an accessory (The telescoping G3A4 stock that can be bought separately) and spray painted satin black. It was not a real rifle. the real shooters had a full auto HK91-A3 (illegally converted to full auto fire). MoviePropMaster2008 20:42, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

CSI and Delta Force pages

I'm not sure why you made those separate pages for CSI and Delta Force. Were you trying to create "Category" pages? If so, take a look at The Matrix page and scroll down to the Category:Matrix to see what a category page is. --Ben41 08:19, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages

Before you start on it, it would probably be prudent to run it by the admins such as MPM2008. You wouldn't want to get all your pages deleted if they find that it would clutter up the database. Perhaps the search engine can be modified for better results. --Ben41 11:23, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

RE:

I think it's a good idea. I actually did this myself when I made a page for Painkiller Jane to distinguish the movie (a page I worked on) from the TV show (which MPM worked on). That being said, I would avoid posting the DVD/CD cover images on the page. It looks a bit too cluttered, and it isn't necessary. Just provide the page links and a brief description of each movie/TV show/game so that the user can understand the difference. -MT2008 04:34, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Oh, and one other thing: I dunno if we need a disambiguation page for CSI, because all of those shows have different names besides just "CSI". I think we only need the disambiguation pages for movies where the title is literally identical in every way. -MT2008 04:39, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Situation Critical

Thanks and that is the North Hollywood Shootout episode. Are there any other such airsoft weapons in the page?--SB2296 06:07, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

As you noticed, the AK47s are really fake. The Beretta 92FS is plastic, all the guns from the Afghanistan episode are airsoft (I know the woman who was the armorer and they broke her guns) so the M4A1s are airsoft guns (I think I have some pics the crew sent me from that shoot), The MAC-11 is plastic, The M16A1 and A2 rifles are just too pristine to be real. They really look like plastic airsoft guns. Remember that this show had a crap budget for guns and costumes (well actually the network budgeted a lot of money, but the filmmakers spent it all on themselves and not the show). Hope this helps. MoviePropMaster2008 04:46, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

MR 73

Why did you do that? There is already a page for the revolver Manurhin MR-73. What was the reason for that? --Jcordell 10:23, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Okay now I understand. Sorry. It's 4:30 in the morning for me and I've been working since 6:oo P.M. I get off work in 90 minutes and I guess I'm a little punch drunk. --Jcordell 10:30, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Don't Blank Pages

Plese don't blank pages as it's concidered vandalism even with pages that deserve the no effort tag. Just put the tag on the page and let the mods do their jobs. Thanks Rockwolf66 04:43, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey

How is it going, I've got your message on wikipedia. Probably you dont have an user page with SB2296 so could not talk back. I am doing fine, just a bit busy with my semester exams so I hardly land at IMFDB now a days. thanks and take care. ritwikbmca 12:56, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Another reason for me to avoid this site

I feel more comfy in writing articles on wikipedia, because IMFDB is essentially an American site and not realy international (though the word international is used in it). Administrators here find Bollywood films obscure for no reason. And they simply take these films as foreign films. Most interresting part is that how the term foreign is defined in an international website? It is simply an example of American monopoly and nothing else. An international detabase where Indian, Chinese, Russian and German films are seen as foreign. I am sure British and Australian films are not obscure as ours. Its actually a pretty good pun of its kind. ritwikbmca 13:18, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Unknown MG

Theres no point in moving unknown MG to RPK-74. That MG fairly sure isnt RPK- Different stock, handguard and much thiner body.--Werc 09:00, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Again - This isnt RPK and it doesnt have to be RPK based. --Werc 16:05, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

MP5K image

Ok, gonna cut off unwanted image parts

Image names

Ok, i just though the name can be totally random. Going to change it.

RE: Template

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you; been at the beach this weekend and I didn't have too much time for the Internet (besides my smartphone, which can't handle IMFDB).

Anyway, here are my thoughts:

  • (1.) I do think the H&K LMGs should get their own page, though I'm not sure what we'd call it yet. Maybe "Heckler & Koch belt-fed machine guns"? Right now, it makes more sense to put the LMGs with their respective assault rifle equivalents, but I do think a new page might be better.
  • (2.) I like the idea of the new weapons infobox, though I'm not sure we can have them for multiple variants on each page. That might take up too much space. Also, I think something similar was proposed, and I remember that MPM (and some other members) objected to the idea of having too much info on guns, generally, since IMFDB is concerned more with identifying guns in movies, not being a gun encyclopedia.

-MT2008 03:04, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Angel Beats!

A description for the show copied from wiki is better than none at all. Unless you can write a better one, please stop taking it down. --HashiriyaR32 20:54, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

plaigarism

I noticed that you were policing that in the past. Awesome work!!! I didn't that these guys were just cut and pasting their paragraphs. That is strictly against IMFDB rules and I am VERY GLAD that you are targeting those guys. These guys have to learn the rules. Good to know that you're on top of that. Thanks again! MoviePropMaster2008 18:20, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Re: JOTR

I personally think that this way is better. It saves space, both in the article and in terms of the quantity of pictures required. I can, of course, reupload all of them seperately. --Milkovich 15:47, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

The Zastava guy

Well I'm gonna wait a little bit. Even though I'm pretty sure they are jacked, most of the pics are great pics. They 'could' be useful if the user is going to chronicle a page made by the movie industry from the Balkan region. I've seen posters for Serbian and Croatian cinema in my area and I'm still kinda curious if anyone is going to make movie pages for films coming out of that region. So far he has not dumped them on anyone's pages yet. And he should not until they appear in something. But right now, they're not doing any harm and 'might' be useful if an entry comes up and we have the pic. MoviePropMaster2008 16:28, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

I'll keep an eye on him, but we have to give members time to do whatever they're going to do. Most of us do things in waves. For example only 2 members on the entire site (PhoenixEnt and Speakeasy804) have put up movie pages 100% in one fell swoop (they preload everything, including the wiki code and wham!). I, myself, take days, sometimes week to 100% complete a page. He hasn't created any obvious problems or harrassed anyone yet. I opt to wait and see. Now there are quite a few rude and cocky anonymous users I'd like to ban, but that's another story. MoviePropMaster2008 16:44, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Screens

Its always better something than nothing, uh ? + They just cant be in better quality. Its highest video quality taht can be get. --Werc 07:52, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Pinko

Well the guy is definitely British, or some kind of influence in his language. I know they are the only countries that calls us Americans "Yanky", but the way he writes is definite up there and only UK uses the worse arse Excalibur01 16:51, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

RE: Syntax

I agree! I usually do this with my own images, and most other people do, too. But sometimes, we get situations like this one. We should change the rules to mention it, though. -MT2008 14:07, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

How does this sound:
:* Movie screenshots should include syntax identifying what movie/TV show/game they came from. If you upload an image of a Beretta 92F being used in Die Hard 2, for example, the file should be given a label such as DieHard2-Beretta92F-1.jpeg or even DH2-92F-2.jpeg. If you upload an image titled Beretta92F.jpeg, this would be confusing, since "Beretta92F.jpeg" sounds like it might be a generic gun identification image.
-MT2008 22:23, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

About Hitman: Blood Money

After the success of my S.W.A.T. 4 page, I decided to go with its format for images. One image for First Person View of the weapon and one image for Third Person View, normally in the hands of an NPC.

I could post more views of weaponry in the inventory of Hitman: Blood Money since that's the first game I've contributed screenshots for with 3D models for inventory items (Silent Hill 3 and SWAT 4 have only sprites for inventory views, and No One Lives Forever's 3D inventory models are far too small), but I'm not sure if the mods will consider them or the "weapons in NPC hands" screenshots redundant. I was originally planning to post inventory screenshots for the customizable weapons in order to show their "stock" forms, but I do suppose I'll post more of them up and see what happens.

If I get in the iron sights of the mods for this, though, I'll have to tell them it was your idea. --Mazryonh 14:05, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Okay, work has started on adding the inventory screenshots to the the Hitman: Blood Money page. Hopefully other users here will find them informative. --Mazryonh 20:37, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

FAMAS G2

Why should we delete that image? So far all the FAMAS images we have are of variants that use the original FAMAS magazine. That is the only image we have of a FAMAS that utilizes STANAG magazines. All of the images on the FAMAS page show variants that only use the original FAMAS magazines, and all lack the distinctive button at the rear of the magwell indicating that it can use STANAG magazines.--PistolJunkie 03:15, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Magpul PDR

Why did you delete it? It was right, that one is used in Avatar!
