[[Franchi SPAS-12]] - Oh boy... this one is gonna get me another ton of hate mail... I can just feel it. But come on folks, the SPAS-12 is such an overrated shotgun that has been used WAY too many times in movies since the 1980s. What is so good about it anyway? Just because a villain in a movie handles that shotgun he is suddenly the most ultimate badass ever? And besides, the gun is known to have some serious faults as noted in the [[Talk: Franchi SPAS-12]] page here on the site

[[TEC-9]] - I won't comment on this gun being a piece of crap, but I will comment on how easily the company bowed to media and political pressure to shut down in light of recent events where criminals got a hold of this gun or outside variants of this gun and illegally converted them to fire full auto. And I will take my stab at the media and politicians by saying this; Congratulations on swaying the people of this nation by spreading false information and lies about this gun and the criminals who used it for ILLEGAL PURPOSES. You have hammered the final nails in the coffins of respect that VERY FEW people had for you idiots. I say no more
[[TEC-9]] - Yeah, not exactly my choice of weapon. Especially if it is made with brittle steel construction that causes the gun to malfunction, then I would rather choose a weapon made out of a more solid construction instead of a shit construction. And I will take my stab at the media and politicians by saying this; Congratulations on swaying the people of this nation by spreading false information and lies about this gun, the company, and the criminals who used it for ILLEGAL PURPOSES and getting Intratec shut down for no reason whatsoever. [[Desert Eagle]] - I will admit that this is a pistol that is good for HUNTING ONLY. But as far as a combat scenario goes? Nope, the Desert Eagle fails in that department. Besides, who really had $1 per bullet to spend on those massive Magnum rounds? Not to mention, the Desert Eagle itself is a pretty heavy handgun, and lugging it through a combat scenario could cause the user to get tired after awhile. And another thing, WHAT IS THE POINT OF A GOLD PLATED DESERT EAGLE? Seriously folks, it just jacks the price up even further on these guns and it's a completely useless addition to the weapon that will fade off the more the gun is fired/cleaned, so what is the point?

Who am I?

I guess to start this off, my name is Josh, and I hail from the hot and sunny state of California. Yeah, yeah, I know... One of the most pro-liberal states in the union with crazy wildfires, shit weather, restrictive gun laws, and will supposedly fall into the ocean and join Hawaii in 2012...

Ok, ok, now that I got those god-awful jokes out of my system, I guess I will tell you more about myself...

I am your average-joe Southern California resident who happens to be a gun-lover. I first discovered this site in the winter of 2009 when I was searching for what kind of handgun the Joker used in the film The Dark Knight, and after a time of some anonymous editing of a few pages and picture captions, I decided to create an account here on IMFDB for the hell of it. I enjoy this site and I think it has one of the best insights as to what kinds of firearms were used in movies.

I currently do not own any firearms, but I have handled and fired several different firearms throughout most of my life (from simple hunting rifles to modern handguns). I am also an airsofter and I currently own 6 airsoft firearms; a shotgun and 5 pistols.

I guess the only things left for me to say is that most of the time, I am a fun-loving guy and I don't mind making new friends or having friendly discussions or debates about guns or movies. I will stick around this site for a bit and help out on the articles that need work where it is needed. Other than that, feel free to hit me up on any questions or discussions that you guys want to have with me.

Pages that I have worked on/edited

Batman: Gotham Knight - The page looked very good, I commend whoever got the good screenshots from the film, the only thing it was lacking was some picture captions that were relevant to the film, so I took the liberty to add some back when I was an anonymous editor.

The Boondocks - I took the liberty to add some additional captions to the page's images.

Friday - The picture captions were lacking some relevant information about the film and the page did not have a poster.

Pages that I would like to see/help build

Zombies of Mass Destruction - I would like to see this movie get it's own page here on IMFDB. I think it's a good zombie comedy flick, and sure it's nowhere near as good as the more popular zombie flicks out there, but it's still a damn good film.

Smith & Wesson M&P .40 - Does this gun really exist?

My airsoft guns

I will upload some pictures of them soon, but my airsoft guns are modeled after the following real-world firearms:

AMT Hardballer - And for some reason, this airsoft version has trademarks on the side that says it's a 9x19mm M1911... But real life AMT Hardballers aren't chambered in 9mm, are they?

Mossberg 500 - More specifically, the Cruiser version with a pistol grip

Walther PPK - It's a really good airsoft pistol. A gas-operated weapon that has a good construction, but the metal parts can be damaged easily if you are not careful or if you misuse the weapon. But that's Umarex airsoft for you.

Smith & Wesson M&P .40 - Even though this is a great airsoft handgun, does it really exist in real life? Because I don't see a page on here about it. Anyway, it's a gas-operated handgun that has a mixture of ABS plastic and metal construction, and it shoots pretty good

Mauser C96 - This one is made of high quality metal, and it shoots pretty hard. It's modeled after the CM712 select-fire version of the Mauser C96. It has a full metal construction and the grips are actual wood like the real version is. It is a soft-air version instead of the previous 2 being gas powered airsoft guns

M1911 - Just got this one recently. It has an all-metal construction and it is a simple soft-air version, meaning that you have to manually pull the side back to chamber a new round. But it's still a good gun nevertheless, it gets it down to the tiniest details on the real life M1911's that were manufactured from 1911 to 1921(24?) before the introduction of the A1 model, such as the thumb safety, slide lock, and the grip safety

Favorite TV Shows

Lock 'n Load With R. Lee Ermey - Probably one of the best TV shows where the host is a former U.S. Marines gunnery sergeant (and won almost every medal in the book).

Future Weapons - Watching the next generation of weapons in action it pretty cool.

Black Lagoon - A pretty funny gunslinging anime where the whole attitude of the show fits the overall page description that is here on the site.

High School of the Dead - Eh, this show is pretty good for it's zombie theme, but did there have to be SO MUCH fanservice?

Band of Brothers - This was such a good TV series about World War II.

Favorite Videogames

Left 4 Dead - What the videogame adaptation of the film 28 Days Later would be like

Left 4 Dead 2 - Very good sequel to the previous game

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - A very well done videogame about a possible war happening in our time, and it FINALLY took players out of the World War II setting (Not that it's a bad thing, but it was getting old after awhile)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Awesome sequel! And it's a videogame that deals with that hypothetical war that could happen one day between the United States and Russia

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Wow, this one was pretty damn good. Maybe not as great as MW2, but it is still a great game

Favorite Firearms

M1911 - Best handgun ever made, PERIOD. Give me this weapon over any other handgun for personal defense or a combat situation. the M1911 is the PURE epitimy of sexiness in a handgun. It's like if a woman were turned into a gun, then we would get the M1911... Maybe Jesus was reincarnated in John Browning...

Single Action Army - This gun only deserves one phrase: "Be not afraid of any man no matter what his size; when danger threatens, call on me, and I will equalize."

Mauser C96 - Elegant design if somewhat pricey. But if a gun was made to look good in film, the C96 is that gun (aside from the M1911)

Tokarev TT-33 - A nice design and overall look to it. The look and feel is very reminiscent of an M1911/Colt Hammerless hybrid.

Ruger Mk III - If I need a naturally silenced, low-recoil weapon in a zombie apocalypse of the Living Dead, this would be my weapon of choice

Ruger Mini-14 - I just like the feel of this weapon.

Smith & Wesson Model 29 - "Do I feel lucky? Well do ya... Punk?"

Smith & Wesson Model 686 - A little more powerful than the previous one, but it still begs the question to your target "Do you feel lucky? Punk?"

Smith & Wesson Model 500 - Yeah, yeah, I know, this gun is an overpowered beast. But when you are under attack from a savage wild animal when you are out hunting, wouldn't you reach for this revolver?

M1 Garand - The best friend of an infantryman... PERIOD. You can drag this baby through the most roughest combat scenarios for a week without servicing it and it will still work for you!

AK-47 - If you need a medium-range assault rifle that wont foul up easily in rough combat conditions, then this is the gun for you!

CornerShot - Ok, ok, I know this is not a real firearm, but it still looks very cool and awesome to use, no?

FN SCAR - An pretty good improvement over the M4 carbine

Steyr AUG - Why does this bullpup rifle get so much hate?

FAMAS - I like this rifle, it has such a good look to it and I also enjoy the feel and easy use of bullpup rifles

FN P90 - It may look like a toy, but this gun still packs a nasty punch when the going gets tough. And now it's being used by both SWAT and other law enforcement agencies in the United States. Along with the Navy SEALS and the U.S. Secret Service

HK416 - The fact that you can shoot this gun when it's waterlogged, muddy, dirty, or full of sand, makes it awesome

Thompson Submachine Gun - Perhaps the most famous American-made submachine gun that became famous in both real life as well as in the movies... the good old Thompson! Seriously, give me this gun over any other submachine gun any day of the week!

Heckler & Koch MP7 - This is a good weapon for concealment and providing sufficient cover fire. I hear that the U.S. Secret Service also uses this weapon aside from the FN P90, hmm...

M1 Carbine - The best friend of a paratrooper, and the best friend of a zombie killer (If you don't get the meaning behind this phrase, read The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks and you will know what I am talking about)

Mossberg 500 - A good shotgun

Winchester Model 1887 - I don't know why, but I like the look of a shotgun that has that old Western-style lever action mechanism

Winchester 1300 - I like the feel of this shotgun, especially the 'Defender' version with it's extended magazine tube... more rounds eh?

Remington 870 - Nothing speaks "American made, American proud" better than this shotgun (Aside from the M1911)

Remington ACR - Damn! Another assault rifle where you can shoot it when it's waterlogged?! Why isn't the U.S. military using this?

AA-12 - Talk about a shotgun designed for military use from the ground up! I would choose this is I needed to lay down some serious firepower for my buddies in a combat scenario. And talk about manufacturing a low-maintenance weapon as well!

Least favorite firearms

M16 rifle series - Oh boy... I know this is gonna get me alot of hate mail, but come on folks. The M16 is such a piece of crap that can break under extreme stress such as rough, weathered, watery combat scenarios. It's been proven in Vietnam, and it is still proven to this day with the M4 Carbine. In fact, go to this link here [1] and you will see how hard the M4 fails in comparison to an HK416 in watery conditions. But to give the M16 the benefit of the doubt, I will say this; if I were to find myself in a combat scenario where I am fighting on city streets, THEN I would reach for the M16. But as far as fighting in the rough weathered elements? I would choose a rifle that wont get fouled easily

Glock - Now this one will get me another ton of hate mail... but seriously folks, Glock pistols are OVERRATED. All this false advertising that the company does about their guns never breaking, never jamming, and never going under stress in combat scenarios... it's all a load of crap. And now Glock has hammered the final nail in the coffin for the respect that alot of people once had for them when they went around suing airsoft companies for making airsoft versions of their firearms

XM8 - I have one complaint about this new battle rifle that will never be put into production; if it is electronically powered, then in the event of an electromagnetic pulse attack, this gun would be out of action! Come on folks, would you rather have a gun that still works, or a gun that no longer works because it has a now-dead electric motor that was powering it in a "really going back to basics" scenario?

Beretta 92 pistol series - What a piece of crap this handgun is. Seriously folks, I don't understand why our boys and girls in uniform are armed with this piece of crap handgun that will break and jam easily in rough combat situations. I've handled both the Inox and M9 versions of this handgun at a gun store once, and the damn things felt like they were made out of cheap metal that would break easily in my hands!

Franchi SPAS-12 - Oh boy... this one is gonna get me another ton of hate mail... I can just feel it. But come on folks, the SPAS-12 is such an overrated shotgun that has been used WAY too many times in movies since the 1980s. What is so good about it anyway? Just because a villain in a movie handles that shotgun he is suddenly the most ultimate badass ever? And besides, the gun is known to have some serious faults as noted in the Talk: Franchi SPAS-12 page here on the site

And I will take my stab at the media and politicians by saying this; Congratulations on swaying the people of this nation by spreading false information and lies about this gun, the company, and the criminals who used it for ILLEGAL PURPOSES and getting Intratec shut down for no reason whatsoever.
