Webley Mk VI or WG

Is Indy's revolver here the Webley Mark VI or the WG Army? Please help confirm. --Ben41 (talk) 00:45, 26 October 2012 (EDT)

During the Castle sequence, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford)is briefly seen carrying a Webley Mk VI while searching for the room his father (Sean Connery)

It is Webley Mk VI, in the first screenshot you can see the cylinder cam and holster guide on the right side of the frame which are absent on a WG. --commando552 (talk) 04:50, 26 October 2012 (EDT)

NOTE: This recently added information regarding the MK-VI may not be correct. Information provided by records from the prop house that provided the firearms for all 4 movies shows that there was never a mention of a MK-VI rented for the films. Only the Webley WG.

You can see that the screen shots below do not conclusively show it to be a MK-VI. A matter of fact the top (castle) and bottom (biplane) are both the Webley WG and not the MK-VI. It is easy to identify, as the WG has a flat area in front of the trigger guard that is almost an inch long. The MK-VI does not. The WG also has a longer body and cylinder compaired to the MK-VI which makes differentiating the two relatively easy. Please enlarge those pictures and look for your self. You can clearly see the flat area in front of the trigger gaurd and the longer cylinder in the top and bottom photos proving it to be a Webley WG. The middle photo is too dark to see much of anything.

The handgun Indy uses in The Last Crusade has been misidentified as the MK-VI for many years so it is suggested that this information remain posted so that the readers can judge for themselves.--Jags (talk) 16:31, 17 December 2012 (EST)

In the first image though, I am sure that I can see holster guides, which were never on any of the WG models were they? Also, based on the position of his trigger finger this gun doesn't have the flat area in front of the trigger guard that is on the WG. Perhaps he has his finger around the front of the trigger guard, which it doesn't look like to me but I could be wrong. I'll watch this scene later to see if I can get any other shots. --commando552 (talk) 17:34, 17 December 2012 (EST)

Indy

Indiana Jones REALLY needs to start carrying more than one gun-S&Wshooter 04:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

M43 Field Cap

Another anachronism besides of the use of MP-40's is the woman wearing what looks like an M-43 Field Cap in the scene where the man is holding the Walther PPK. Harleyguy 29 May 2010 20:36

Hands

Does anybody else think this is the best movie ever made and will never be topped or is it just me?

It's just you, :P But it's still a great movie btw. - Mr. Wolf 18:19, 12 July 2011 (CDT)

Colonel Vogel's uniform

The caption should be edited. The scene where Vogel and a group of soldiers armed with MP40s happens at the castle in Austria, where Vogel would be expected to wear a dress uniform, and is well within friendly lines.

It was not out in the field. - Maxman 00:22, 19 March 2012 (EST)

P38

Should a line similar to the P38's entry in the Raiders of the Lost Ark page be added to the entry here? Something like:

"It is conceivable that P38s might be used outside Germany as early as 1938, though it is more likely they would be using Luger P.08s."

Thoughts? - Maxman 22:33 27 July 2012 (EST)

Armed Biplane

A point which has always bothered me is why is the biplane armed at all? It is a civilian aircraft carried by a civilian Zeppelin (why is not clear) on an international flight so why carry guns? Next time I fly I'll check the plane for hidden gun positions!--Maskedweasel (talk) 09:42, 9 June 2014 (EDT)

Carbine mausers?

During the Sultan scene two of his guards are wearing what (to me) looks like shorter carbine versions of the Mauser with a straight bolt. I thought they were the M1916 spanish mauser already featured, but the bolt handle is straight. Any guesses? Dudester32 (talk) 13:42, 6 October 2016 (EDT) Carbine Mauser.

Maybe Spanish M43 or M44 version? Greg-Z (talk) 14:20, 6 October 2016 (EDT)
