The Honey Badger was originally designed by Kevin Brittingham during his time in AAC as a modern AR15 style alternative to the HK MP5SD. The weapon was designed in conjunction with a new caliber, .300 AAC Blackout, which can be fired effectively suppressed and unsuppressed from a very short barrel with better terminal results and improved sound signature than a 9mm round.
