: Looks like a 'duty' K-frame, a Model 64 HB or 65. If I were to hazard a guess, it's probably a re-use of the Model 65 already listed on the page - The one Ralph (DeVito) uses. Man next to/in front of him also has what looks to be a S&W K-frame, in this case a nickel Model 19 Snub. Not sure about the rifle right now. I can make a few observations about the unknown rifle.
1. It is most likely a Mauser variant because of the "latch" (do not know the technical term) that allows you to remove the bolt which is a feature of a Mauser.
2. It is shortened, with the front sight removed for some reason.
3. Besides that, the movie "Romancing the Stone" was partially filmed in Mexico. The reason for removing the front sight while keeping the rear sight is beyond me.

Except for the closeup when Jack T. Colton (Michael Douglas) pushes the safety off on the shotgun, the receiver on the gun he is using looks like an Ithaca Model 37, as the photo of him taking cover shows there is no ejection port on the right side as the Model 870 has, although the forestock and vented rib on top looks like the 870. There is also a double action revolver that Colonel Zolo uses when he confronts Joan Wilder (Theresa Russell) and shoots at Jack Colton after the bus crash, a stainless DA revolver that Danny DeVito uses to temporarily steal the emerald from Colton and Wilder. harleyguy 22:21 16 March 2010

It's a Remington 870 made for left handers with the ejection port on the other side. You can see that in the third screenshot. Also, it's Kathleen Turner.--Ben41 06:27, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I finally saw that a few weeks back watching the movie on one of the Encore channels. When Colton and Joan Wilder are walking through the village to the "bellmaker's" house after spending the night in the aircraft fusalage I saw the left side ejection port very briefly. Yep, Kathleen Turner. She and Theresa Russell look a lot a like to me. My error. harleyguy 15:29 16 July 2010

S&W Model 19. --Predator20 02:13, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Unknown revolver, but prolly a S&W

In the village, one of Juan's henchmen carries this revolver in his belt. I cant identify the revolver, but I'm guessing it is a Smith and Wesson at least. Dudester32 (talk) 16:15, 8 June 2016 (EDT)

Same guy, second from the left.
Indeed a S&W - Looks like a stainless 'duty' K-frame, a Model 64 HB or 65. If I were to hazard a guess, it's probably a re-use of the Model 65 already listed on the page - The one Ralph (DeVito) uses. Man next to/in front of him also has what looks to be a S&W K-frame, in this case a nickel Model 19 Snub (the finish looks a little brighter and a tad off from the other revolver, making me think it's bright nickel rather than a stainless Model 66). Not sure about the rifle right now. StanTheMan (talk) 02:01, 9 June 2016 (EDT)

Unknown carbine/smg

Another unknown is this weapon below. It looks like a variant of the M1 carbine, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to identify it. Dudester32 (talk) 16:25, 8 June 2016 (EDT)

Iver Johnson Enforcer? --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:45, 8 June 2016 (EDT)
I had not even heard about that weapon. The only thing that speaks against it is the fact that the barrel is completely covered in wood, unlike the "Enforcer" models I've been able to see via google.Dudester32 (talk) 17:05, 8 June 2016 (EDT)

bolt-action rifle

I can make a few observations about the unknown rifle.

1. It is most likely a Mauser variant because of the "latch" (do not know the technical term) that allows you to remove the bolt which is a feature of a Mauser.

2. It is shortened, with the front sight removed for some reason.

3. Besides that, the movie "Romancing the Stone" was partially filmed in Mexico. The reason for removing the front sight while keeping the rear sight is beyond me. Dudester32 (talk) 15:52, 10 June 2016 (EDT)
