When Louis Winthorpe III ([[Dan Aykroyd]]) is forced to sell his expensive watch in a pawn shop for $50, he looks down and sees a [[M1911|Colt Commander]] with pearl grips. He asks how much and apparently is sold the gun! In real life, without a pistol liscense or any money, buying a handgun proves somewhat troublesome. Winthorpe then takes it with him to the Christmas party and threatens to kill Billy Ray before running away. He tries to commit suicide with it but the gun misfires. He tosses it away and the gun hilariously goes off.
