In the film, the town of Dodge City in celebration of the country's Centennial, puts on a shooting contest to win the prized rifle. Several of the main characters are seen holding the rifle including Lin McAdam (Jimmy Stewart ), 'Dutch Henry' Brown (Stephen McNally ), Young Bull (Rock Hudson ), Steve Miller (Charles Drake ) as well as Pvt. Doan (Tony Curtis ).
