What was my "spark"? What really hit me to get interested in identifying movie firearms? It's simple: Goldeneye. It was the first James Bond movie I ever saw and I was instantly hooked. At that point I really didn't have much knowledge of firearms; but one of the few things I did know was James Bond used a Walther PPK... 7.65mm. Then came along my brand new Nintendo 64 and with it one of the greatest games ever made: Goldeneye 64. With my limited scope of firearms types, I was perplexed as to what this "PP7" thing was in the game, knowing full well that Mr. Bond used the PPK. And like that, I was hooked on correctly identifying firearms from movies/video games. It was a pastime that drove my parents and brother crazy while watching a movie when I would blurt out "That's a (insert firearm here)!" But that's my origin story. Who else's hobbies/pastimes has Goldeneye impacted? Or anyone have any interesting stories of how they became a firearms ID-ing maniac?
