The Incredible Hulk

Hi,

So are you really the armorer who worked on The Incredible Hulk (2008)? If so, then I apologize for doubting you because obviously, you would know far better than I would what appears in the movie. All I can go by is what's in the credits.

Anyway, some really quick questions:

  • (1.) Are the grenade launchers actually modified from SL6s or DefTech launchers, as I suspected?
  • (2.) Are the SIGs in the movie the P220R or P226R? I was pretty sure they were P226Rs, but I wasn't 100% sure.
  • (3.) Aren't there SOME Diemaco/Colt Cananda rifles in the hands of cinema armorers? I realize that they're a defense contractor, but if they sold the guns abroad to foreign customers or law enforcement agencies, isn't it possible that some of those could have been passed on to armorers in the business, who are often licensed to sell the guns to sources outside of the Canadian government? I might be wrong, but there really are some M16/M4-type rifles in movies that look to be of Canadian manufacture.
  • (4.) Oh, yeah, and for Tim Roth's MP5; was the gun supposed to fire darts or something? I couldn't get a good look at it because of the darkness and angles, but I wasn't sure if the gun itself was supposed to fire the darts, or if it was supposed to be an MP5 with a launcher on it.

Hi No worries! Yes I do work as an Armorer, go to IMDB hulk and click on my name and you will see what I have worked on.

1 - DefTech, but I will confirm this for you. I am going to LA on monday and won't be back for 2 weeks, I'll take a pic of that launcher and send it to you. The rail type jacket was hand made by us, so they are original.

2 - P226R

3 - Diemaco will not sell anything to civi's, only military and law.

Up here we are licensed by the federal gov to work as gun guys in the movie/entertainment industry.

Then if your willing to go through the red tape, I believe we are the only movie company that has a retail and sales licence to law and military, so in effect we can buy and sell, but diemaco doesn't care, I even have an old army buddy that works for them and he is the head sales guy, they will not do it. So then we went out and got a manufacture licence, now we can build guns from scratch, again we are the only one in Canada. Next came the "controlled goods" licence, we are now legally able to buy anything under the sun. With all those licences from both the Canadian gov't and American, you would think that diemaco would sell, nope!

4 - the gun fire's both live and darts, they just swap out mags.

Just like sim rounds, those are the paint ball rounds in 9mm and 556, the movie theory was,

if you can fire paintballs out of real guns, (minus the small mod) then you could fire darts! So have some mags with darts and some with live. Just like Die Hard 2.

I'll be honest here, Diemaco makes the best M16 family in the world, period, I have been in the military and now I am a gun guy, worked with a lot of type's, Diemaco is the best followed closely by Armalite then Colt, but that is only my opinion!

Yep, saw your IMDB profile. I know Movie Armaments Group has worked on a LOT of American movies filmed in Canada (I first heard of the company because of my interest in the guns of Romeo & Juliet); I just didn't know who else worked in the company besides Charlie Taylor.
That would be awesome if you could get IMFDB a picture of the launchers used in the movie; I would certainly appreciate it. Also, which of the commandos were you in The Incredible Hulk, besides just the one whose hand presses the detonator in the trailer? (what type of gun were you carrying in that scene?)

I was the guy throwing the flashbang and firing the G36C.

Sorry for the delay Matt!

Matt if your out there, sorry for the delay!

Been busy, looking forward to sending those pic's that I promised and I have some new shows with info that I can share with you.

Hi, Al! It's great to hear from you again! No worries on the delay...just looking at all the movies credited on your IMDB profile for the past year makes clear enough what's been keeping you so busy. The Incredible Hulk page has received a rather significant makeover since you were last here.
I'm also happy to hear you got the pics. And any info you've got on movies you've worked on is much appreciated. Feel free to take a look at any IMFDB pages for movies/TV shows where you were armorer and correct us on stuff we got wrong. In fact, we have a page for Flashpoint under construction now. -MT2008 05:45, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Your page

Hi, if this is Al Vrkljan, I thought I'd let you know we made a page for you. Just click on your name. My name is John aka Gunmaster45, I've actually just added new shots for the Flashpoint page if you want to check that out.

I also checked out your profile and saw you did Shoot 'Em Up, which my screencapper sadly didn't except (so I couldn't add shots like I had planned). On another note, I saw the Pacifier on TV today and was going to screencap it at some point (had the DVD lying around).

I hope to get to know you better if you stay. Cheers. - Gunmaster45

Good news, I'm going to upload shoot em up soon so you can check that out. Unfortunately Charles Taylor gets all the screentime in the special feattures. - Gunmaster45
