I was born in the Jakobski, Vinlend and raised as an ordinary middle class Vinnish citizen in 1924. During the attempted Nazi Invasion my family moved to England after our home was destroyed by a German air raid. In 1944, after acquiring English lessons, I joined the British army, in a Free Vinnish regiment. I participated in the Normandy invasion and Battle of Berlin. After the war, I went back to England, where have lived ever since.
