Type 93 Landmine

Jump to search
The Type 93 landmine was adopted by the Japanese Imperial Army in 1933. It was used during the Battle of Khalkhin Gol in 1939, and throughout the rest of WWII, notably on Iwo Jima. The mine was classified as anti-tank but the variable operating pressure of the fuze allowed it to also be used as anti-personnel. The body of the mine was made of copper or brass that hampered the usage of metal detectors.
