Tumbledown
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Tumbledown is a 1988 British war film by the BBC. It is based on the experiences of Robert Lawrence (Colin Firth), who fought in the Falklands War in the combat on the Tumbledown Mountain.
The following weapons were used in the film Tumbledown:
Rifles
L1A1 SLR
The L1A1 SLR is carried by all the soldiers of the Scots Guards. A variant with a telescopic sight can also be seen.
Some Guardsmen have a night vision equipped version during combat on Tumbledown.
FN FAL PARA
The Argentine Marines are barely visibly equipped with folding stock FAL rifles. An Argentinian also uses a folding stock FAL. Later in the climax, Robert uses it until he falls wounded.
M16A1
When the injured Guardsmen are recovering on the hospital ship SS Uganda, they watch The Deer Hunter by Michael Cimino on the internal TV system, with Robert De Niro playing a soldier carrying an M16. In reality and the original script, the film was actually Cross of Iron.
Norinco Type 56
In the same scene mentioned above, NVA soldiers can be seen with Norinco Type 56 rifles in The Deer Hunter.
Machine Guns
L7A2
A Scottis Guards uses the L7A2 during combat on Tumbledown.
Unknow Machine gun
During the flashback, an Argentinian machine gun nest fires what appears to be an unknown large caliber weapon.
Bren L4A4
When the Guardsmen arrive at their positions, a Bren Gun can be seen on the ground. It it presumably a 7.62mm NATO L4A4.
Launchers
M72 LAW
A Guardsman fires a M72 LAW against the Argentinian positions in the hope of intimidating them (without success).
