The Scouts (Razvedchiki)

The Scouts (Razvedchiki ) is a Soviet 1968 war movie directed by Igor Samborsky and Aleksei Shvachko. In December 1944, Soviet troops are fighting for a major city on the Danube (meaning Budapest). The river is heavily mined. A recon group of the Soviet Navy under the command of Captain-Lieutenant (Lieutenant Commander) Kurganov is assigned a mission to get plans for a safe fairway from the German headquarters.

Viktor Kurganov (Ivan Mikolaychuk ) carries a PPSh with stick magazine, others, including Starshina 2nd stage (second class petty officer) Sashko Makarenko (Leonid Bykov ), Pvt. Vasiliy Sigaev (Aleksei Smirnov ), Nikolay (Anatoli Yurchenko ), Koberidze (Gizhuri Kobakhidze), and Lt. Kashkin (Vitali Doroshenko ), use PPSh-41s with drum magazines.
