The Children of Villa Emma

The Children of Villa Emma is a 2016 Austrian movie directed by Nikolaus Leytner. Spring 1941: 14-year-old Betty escapes with the help of a Jewish aid organization that wants to bring a group of children to Palestine. But she has to pay a high price and leave her family and friends behind. The caretakers Josko and Helga first take the children to Zagreb, but they cannot stay there for long. After some hardships, the group finally ends up at Villa Emma in Italy, where they are initially safe. The teenagers grow up in a war-torn world and still have to deal with the problems and dreams of growing up.

The Karabiner 98k is used by Croatian auxiliary troops (Independent State of Croatia; a puppet state of Nazi Germany after the occupation of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia), German soldiers, and Yugoslavian partisans. At the movie's end, one Swiss border guard is also seen with a German Karabiner 98k.
Schmit-Rubin Karabiner M1911
At the end of the movie, the group encounters a Swiss border patrol. Two of them are seen wielding Karabiner M1911s.
