Winchester rifle IDs
I think these rifles may be Winchester Model 1892s rather than 1873s:
In the first two images you can see that the wood of the stock starts about level with the trigger, as opposed to on the 1873 where the stock starts farther down the wrist. Also, on the 1873 the front sight was part of the front barrel band, as opposed to the 1892 where it was mounted on the barrel behind the band, just like in the guns seen here. Lastly, in the image of Johanna with the rifle the shape of the rear of the receiver looks more like an 1892, there doesn't appear to be a side plate, and the step on the bottom edge of the receiver makes this look more like an 1892 rather than a 1873 to me. --commando552 (talk) 10:42, 18 April 2015 (EDT)
