In case anyone is interested in the knives, this is from Tudy at Out of the Ashes Forge, which made several knives and sheaths for the movie: We made 11 different knives and 4 bags all used in the movie. The bag that Hawk used has the braided hemp strap, the grey bag with the patch was carried by Lucas Haas, Elk Dog (Pawnee Chief) carried the one with deer fur sheath and it was used to cut Fitzgerald's throat at the end of the movie. The Neesmuk style knife with the purple shells was the one carried by Troissiant (French trapper rapist) and was used to castrate him. The beaver tail sheath "butcher" type oak handled was carried by Hugh Glass at the end of the movie when he goes to find Fitzgerald. The neck knife with the beaver fur and tooth was carried by Elk Dog's captive daughter. The kidney shaped brown bag with the antler closure was on a black trapper and he was killed in the first attack. The neck knife with the colored rawhide sheath (called parfleche) was carried by a Native extra. The knife with the diamond shape in the walnut handle was put in Hugh Glass's original sheath and used to gut the horse.
