Winchester 1890

You sure that isn't a Winchester Model 1906, the only way to tell the difference is the 1890 has an octogonal barrel while the 1906 has a smooth barrel. --AdAstra2009 00:02, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Colt Police Positive

These are not Police Positives. They are Army Specials, identifiable by their size and the lack of reflection-dispersing crosshatching on the top of the frame, one of the noticeable differences between the Army Special and it successor, the Official Police. This contributor has an Army Special and has owned several Colt D-frames (which the Police Positive is based on), and there is no way the revolver Morse is holding in the closeup could be a Police Positive.

I agree. The Police Positive is a smaller framed revolver. The Colt Official Police is a medium sized frame. Just by looking at the revolvers being used by the actors in the screencaps it's apparent they are using larger Colt revolvers than the Police Positive. Grip

In two of the screencaps Tom Hanks is shown holding his revolver with a two-handed grip. I thought that two handed gripping techniques for handguns were not widely taught until the 1950's. Is this an anachronism or am I mistaken? -Anonymous

Maybe the two-handed grip wasn't taught till the 50's, that doesn't necessarily mean that absolutely no one used a two-handed grip before that. Kornflakes89 01:56, 13 April 2011 (CDT)
