Talk:The Godfather (VG)
I know it's a game. but....
Why bother trying to make the game realistic to the film and era only to mess it up with fantasy like upgrades that bear no resemblance to weapon reality past or present?
I much preferred Mafia (which needs a page here) as not only were all the handguns, shotguns, machine guns & rifles completely accurate it had some of the most realistic features too - such as if you reload certain weapons before empty, you loose what's left (e.g. reload your 1911 with 2 rounds still in and you use 7 from your remaining ammo count not 5 as you just threw the remaining two on the sidewalk when changing clips, rather than laboriously top up the clip round by round and reinsert it).. 21 Feb 11 Buckeroo (unregistered)
Colt DS or Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snubnose
I got this for the 360 and the handle appears to be a little too big to be a Detective, I was thinking it was the Smith ans Wesson because it was the one used in the film
The only reason I would disagree here is the front sight and the grip. The front sight extends to the front front of the receiver, when the Model 10's front sight extends to just in front of the receiver. The grip also goes to right behind the trigger guard while the Model 10's doesn't ( it is possible aftermarket grips have been installed, though ). However, if someone could get a good shot of the cylinder latch that would clear this up. Also, make sure to sign your posts mysterious one! -SeptemberJack (talk) 21:54, 20 February 2017 (EST)
- I agree about the sight style and grips. In addition, going by the thumbnail in the lower left of the screencap, that looks like a (anachronistic) 3rd gen DS due to the shrouded rod. Earlier Detective Specials have exposed rods while S&W Model 10s all have simple sockets for their ejector rods. StanTheMan (talk) 01:47, 21 February 2017 (EST)
