Stokes Mortar
While it is possible that the launcher might be a Stokes Mortar, it's more likely to be a British 2" Mortar [( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2-inch_mortar )] - the Stokes was retired in the mid 1930's, and was relatively large and heavy. The 2" mortar was by design small and portable and very common during and after WWII. Certain Marks of the 2" Mortar definitely match the smooth profile of the launcher seen in the movie, and the bombs more closely resemble the stubby cylindrical bombs seen in the movie.
