The gun in Moxie's coat pocket looks more like a Smith & Wesson Military Police (or Model 10,using post 1957 nomenclature). Note the sharp shoulder at the top of the backstrap;Colts are more rounded there. There also appears to be te S&W type thumb latch, and interestingly the hammer spur has been removed. In the picture where McGraw is holding the gun on O'Keefe, his thumb obscures the identifying features. The first two pix do have a Colt DS showing the short ejector rod of the period. As to the New Service ID, the only way I'll hazard a guess to look at the front sight, which on the NS is shark fin shaped. all other fixed sight Colts of the period had half moon round front sights. I can't tell one way or another, frankly. IIRC, the Treasury used Colt OPs at the time.---Tecolote
