Revolvers
I think there are three types in this movie the already identified Smith and Wesson, and a Colt Official Police and a Colt Police Positive Special.
You see how there's no ejector rod socket and the thumb piece doesn't match the Smith?
But it does match this Colt Official Police.
This also has no ejector rod socket but the topstrap is thinner than the one on the Official Police.
But matches the topstrap on this Police Positive Special as well as the cylinder coming past the end of the trigger guard meaning it can't be a short cylinder Police Positive. Black Irish Paddy (talk) 09:05, 30 November 2019 (EST)
- Many thanks for help!
Here are some more screenshots of Inspector Lafferty's revolver(s). During the chase after Moriarty inspector holds a Colt OP.
And in the following scene his revolver swithces to a Colt PPS, right?

- He uses the PPS in both, they match the PPS not the OP. Pictures 4 and 5 on the main page show the OP which is overall larger than the PPS seen in pictures 8, 9 and 10. It's a bit subtle since it's based on the relative size of the gun particularly the thickness of the top strap, size of the cylinder in relation to the frame and the size of the gun in the actors hands. The pictures you posted above all fit the PPS not an OP. Black Irish Paddy (talk) 10:31, 30 November 2019 (EST)
