Musket ID
I'm sorry, but some french musket are Brown Bess not Charleville. Note the ramrod position and lack of barrel bands. Pyramid Silent (talk) 16:26, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
- In my memory I thought there were Charlevilles in all these films, but flicking through a few of them I can't find a single real Charleville in any of them. All firing guns used by British or French troops appear to be Brown Besses, however there are a couple of other types of musket that appear but I think they are both rather crude non firing replicas. One of them has brass barrel bands which I think is meant to be a Charleville, but it is pretty far off. This weapon can be seen in the background of the above cap, or you can see them in this cap of them being used by the British: This cap also shows the other musket which I think is a non firing replica, which has a very abrupt angle at the front of the stock. --commando552 (talk) 18:22, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
- Also, the flintlock pistol in this isn't a New Land Pattern as it has a traditional rather than captive ramrod. --commando552 (talk) 18:25, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
