SIG P229

I think that the P229 is the newer E2 version then changes to the P229R when Marks uses it. If you look at the slide it doesn't look like a standard P229 or the P229R. --Gunfan2818 (talk)

SIG-Sauer P229 E2 - 9x19mm. This is the current production model of the P229.

I think you're right, but it looks like the P229 is an E2 throughout the film. Here, I composed an image from different points in the film (not seen on the main page):

A collage of the P229 at different points in the film. First is when the P229 lies on the floor after the scuffle between Hammond and Marks. Second is after Marks pulls the SIG after he's given his own sidearm to the captain. Third one is when Reilly confronts Marks. I thinks it looks like an E2.

The presence of an external extractor and the new one-piece grip indicate that it is a new model SIG Sauer P229. If it were a true SIG Sauer P229 E2, the white E2 logo would be visible. --L.J. Gibbs (talk) 15:17, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
If you read the SIG page, we explain that we still refer to the newer version as "P229 E2" to distinguish it from older models, regardless of whether it has the white "E2" on the slide. It's the same reason we also referred to the "R" generation as "P229R" even though that designation was not the official SIG nomenclature for very long. It makes things a lot less confusing, plus it's much simpler and more descriptive than saying "newer-generation SIG-Sauer P229" (which is how I remember the NCIS: Los Angeles pages used to refer to them before I created this convention). -MT2008 (talk) 21:04, 17 October 2014 (EDT)
