New Polish Machine Gun http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2012/09/03/polish-modernised-ukm-2013-machine-gun/ -insertjjs

it's just a prototype.--MTOOO 11:10, 4 September 2012 (CDT)

Reminder

This page is only for weapons that have actually appeared in something. I have trimmed a number of entries from the handgun section that do not fit this criteria. The Wierd It 11:44, 4 September 2012 (CDT)

Doesn't GROM use the HK416? Excalibur01 11:59, 4 September 2012 (CDT)

It does; at the moment, the page lacks many positions, like WIST pistol or Beryl rifle. pawelm 20:08, 4 September 2012 (CEST)

I read in an article about the GROM that they also use MP-5SD, USP, and standard M4 rifles in Iraq and the PGM Hecate rifle. I'm going to see if I can't find that magazine article. insertjjs

World War II Poles in Film

I dont think theres been many films portraying the forces of Poland, one of the most famous had Germans disguised as Poles, does this count?--The Mercenary 13:33, 4 September 2012 (CDT)

Heres a few... add to it if you can

Medias with Polish Armed Forces

Just curious to know if PAF appear much in medias. Someone know some? Special Forces like the JW GROM like in Medal of Honor: Warfighter are included. The ones sets in modern time and the Western-made are more welcomed.--Dannyguns (talk) 12:30, 25 April 2017 (EDT)

List :

  • Karbala
  • Wargame: European Escalation

I will start this page tomorrow as there are enough entries which qualify for this page.

Please don't create any more of these pages. If you want to work on one, please complete an incomplete one first. They're not hard to find, since all of them are still incomplete. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:01, 28 April 2017 (EDT)
These organisation are active so these page can't be complete anytime soon.--Dannyguns (talk) 04:34, 29 April 2017 (EDT)
Sorry Funkychinaman I don't understand? Those pages will never be completed as they are a growing list. Whenever somebody adds a new weapon (being historical or active), the list must be adjusted accordingly. This is why those pages were created in the first place. So why are we not allowed to do one for the Polish stuff? --Hchris (talk) 04:40, 29 April 2017 (EDT)
What's the purpose of these lists? And why create a page that can never be completed? And wikipedia already has these lists, and their lists are better. Why would we want a neutered version of a wikipedia list? The admins went over these points four years ago. --Funkychinaman (talk) 08:14, 29 April 2017 (EDT)
It helps to find out anachronisms and gives a nice overview of what was used by whom, which organisations, from when to when etc. It is also nice to compare stuff. It is easier to find weapons that way. When I edit different pages here, it does indeed help me and speeds up work greatly. Sure I am not an admin, but for me those pages are great. --Hchris (talk) 08:23, 29 April 2017 (EDT)
Please don't create a new one. --Funkychinaman (talk) 08:47, 29 April 2017 (EDT)
OK :-( --Hchris (talk) 03:12, 30 April 2017 (EDT)

Hem, sorry but these pages are often un-updated,imcomplete and even lacking for some armed forces ( for example Zimbabwe Armed Forces ). For example while I got confirms that MSBS is already adopted, Wikipedia said that just -R variant is.--Dannyguns (talk) 03:25, 1 May 2017 (EDT)

I've been against these pages from the start, for the simple question of where do we draw the line? American, British, Russian, German, and Japanese are arguably the five most commonly depicted armed forces in cinema, but we're always going to have people pushing for A-Z lists of every firearm-wielding armed force on earth (Zimbabwe? Really?). Then the desire is ultimately going to shift to pages for the FBI, other government agencies, various police departments, etc.. We categorize firearms in cinematic media, we're not a general gun encyclopedia. Spartan198 (talk) 06:19, 10 July 2017 (EDT)

THANK YOU. --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:10, 10 July 2017 (EDT)
I'm not sure I piped up about this before but in any case, I'm with Spartan on this as well. I mean it's a nice thing to have, but hardly necessary and just lends itself to problems - This before the fact that, problems or no, it takes away from the actual point of the site itself. StanTheMan (talk) 14:17, 10 July 2017 (EDT)
I'm joining the bandwagon on this, but like everyone else, I think the amount we have is fine. The Polish military is not a common sight in movies, especially not to the same amount as Germany, Britain, France and the US are, and making a whole page that rehashes Wikipedia wastes time and effort that could be spent finishing other pages. --PaperCake 17:19, 10 July 2017 (EST)
