Ryuui's Handgun

Looking at the first picture of it, the gun looks to me like an HK VP70. I know it can't be, but is it possible it's cast or otherwise based on an HK handgun with the same profile? --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 01:28, 8 August 2014 (EDT)

The movie was filmed in 1966, while VP70 appeared four years later. Greg-Z (talk) 02:34, 8 August 2014

I understand. A lot of HK guns are similar. Did you read the bit where I said it could be based on another HK?--That's the Way It's Done (talk) 02:47, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
The first pistol, manufactured by HK, appeared in 1967 (it was HK 4). Hardly Japanese film makers were admitted to see HK drawing boards. Greg-Z (talk) 03:06, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
See, now I didn't know that. That's all you had to say. No need to be snide about it. --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 09:30, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
Sorry if I was too harsh. Greg-Z (talk) 09:48, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
No worries. It's hard to judge intent via text. --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 11:06, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
