Talk:Garrison's Gorillas

Unidentified

Used by the Gorillas to rob a German bank in "Banker's Hours." I thought they were Grease Guns, hence the file name(s). However, they're too long and have the wrong kind of folding stock. I then assumed they were Smith & Wesson M76s (like in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three), but the barrels are incorrect. Anyone?

They're Madsen M50s. It looks like they were the go-to SMG in the 1960s on TV. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:02, 30 March 2016 (EDT)
Much appreciated! Kooshmeister (talk) 14:06, 30 March 2016 (EDT)
Apparently the safety is right behind the mag well, so you'd need both hands to fire it. So there'd be no way he could fire it in that last cap. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:16, 30 March 2016 (EDT)
BTW, the Grease Gun on the page is also an M50. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:49, 30 March 2016 (EDT)
Out of curiosity, is the M50 standing in for something in the show? It'd be anachronistic in the 1940's. Also I think the M1 Carbine looks the post-war variant, since it seems to have the bayonet lug. --CnC Fin (talk) 05:56, 31 March 2016 (EDT)
The M50 came out in 1950, but like I said, they seemed to be really popular with armorers back then. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:41, 31 March 2016 (EDT)
