Quit calling these RIFLES

They were SMOOTHBORE long guns, thus they cannot be called rifles. This page needs a lot of work. Good thing I got some screenused muskets coming soon! ;) LOL! MoviePropMaster2008 05:12, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Edit, obviously those that had rifled barrels can be called rifles, but too many folks call Muskets, Rifles. MoviePropMaster2008 05:12, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Rifle history

Sigh, I suppose I will have to fix this page. For one thing, the Kentucky/PA rifles were indeed rifles because of the rifled bore gunmaking traditions of German gunsmiths in the American colonies. However, most of the long guns, especially the MILITARY long guns from Europe like the Brown Bess were Smoothbore. We have to make sure we differentiate between rifled flintlocks and smoothbore flintlocks. There is a MIX of the two represented on THIS PAGE. MoviePropMaster2008 08:04, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Can't we just make a separate page for smoothbore muskets? --Funkychinaman 15:38, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
