Name
The name is incorrect, as the actual GPBO-40 is a different grenade launcher designed for FB Beryl rifles. Does anyone (especially Polish users) have an idea about the actual name of the launcher? Heck, I'm not sure if it even has an official name yet, though MILMAG has been referring to it as "GP" (often accompanied by "granatnik" which is Polish for "grenade launcher"), and at some earlier point "GS". Here are some relevant links (for which I had to use Google Translate): [1] [2]. On that note, the grenade launcher with an angled foregrip currently pictured in our article was the initial design, which was abandoned in favor of a more conventional one. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 12:01, 3 December 2021 (EST)
- Going off the pictures in the second link, it must just be "GP" judging by the markings on that locking plate.--AgentGumby (talk) 13:09, 3 December 2021 (EST)
- Yeah, these launchers do have these markings; it seemed weird to me that this is the actual designation, but eh, I also saw some older tweets referring them to as such. Guess it stands for "granatnik podwieszany" or something equivalent, which simply means "underbarrel grenade launcher". Oh and according to this article, the "GS" designation is for the standalone variant. Anyway, I guess we will rename the article to "FB GP" for now, if no one objects. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 13:53, 3 December 2021 (EST)
- I understand Slavic languages and can confirm that you are correct, and the S in GS apparently stands for "samodzielny" (standalone). --Nanomat (talk) 13:57, 3 December 2021 (EST)
- Alright; I've renamed it. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 06:51, 4 December 2021 (EST)
