Talk:Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Please help ID
Please help ID the rifle in the foreground. It appears to be a bolt action. --Ben41 (talk) 22:49, 5 March 2015 (EST)
Malcolm is seen with this rifle in the beginning of the film. He later hands it over to the apes (as per the agreement they made), which is seen being destroyed by a gorilla. Could it be a SAKO 85? --Ben41 (talk) 08:30, 9 March 2015 (EDT)
It could be a Ruger 77 rifle as well?--Balin21 (talk) 20:36, 24 March 2015 (EDT)
Discussion
I hope this one doesn't overtly paint the apes as "good" and humans as "bad". That really bothered me about Rise and flies in direct contradiction of the original Planet's message (at least the one I interpreted from it) that the concept of good and evil is a creation of intelligent thought and has no basis in nature. - From what I have heard there some of the apes and humans want to live in peace, but on the other hand you also have both apes and humans who want war. I believe that the main villain of this might actually be one of the apes, but not sure about that as I haven't seen it. --commando552 (talk) 13:37, 10 July 2014 (EDT)
There's a poster I keep seeing where I think it's Caesar is on a horse and behind him is the Golden Gate bridge and he's holding an AR of some sort Excalibur01 (talk) 22:00, 10 July 2014 (EDT)
M249
I checked on IMDB and parts of this movie were filmed in Canada so there's a good chance the M249s here might just be Daewoo K3s instead. --Charon68 (talk) 22:47, 10 July 2014 (EDT)
Just Watched The Movie
And I saw an Browning M2 and an Mk 19. Neither were used in the movie but they were shown being readied for battle. --Charon68 (talk) 21:37, 29 October 2014 (EDT)
M16A4?
What I believe is a modified M16A4 appears in one movie poster but also two of them are seen in the M2 Browning screenshot, both are leaning to a crate by the ape, first one being equipped with an M203 and an optical sight, and the second which is similar to the one in the movie poster is behind an M4. --CnC Fin (talk) 01:09, 6 March 2015 (EST)
Beretta 92FS Inox
At the end of the movie, when Malcolm acquires the FN SCAR-H, one the survivors with Dreyfus can be seen with what appears to be a Beretta 92FS Inox in a thigh holster.--Alienqueen11 (talk) 21:43, 9 March 2015 (EDT)
M16A4? (again)
Regarding the "M16A4" used by McVeigh - doesn't it look more like a Mk12? Or at least something mocked up to look like a Mk12? Stickie (talk) 02:52, 26 February 2016 (EST)
