Not a 1911 Variants (Colt Pony)
I am going to remove the 1911 derivatives from here because i really don't thing it belongs. The Colt Pony lacks a grip safety, thumb safety, beaver-tail grip and is Double Action. If it was only missing 1 or 2 things I would still say its a 1911 variants but 4... That's pushing it. --Zackmann08 16:03, 8 July 2012 (CDT)
- As this is a DAO version of the Mustang with a slightly different trigger guard, if you have the 1911 template there I think it should also be here. --commando552 17:00, 8 July 2012 (CDT)
- The Mustang is Single Action, has a beaver tail and has a thumb safety. There is more than just a "slightly different trigger guard" that distinguishes these. That being said, I could see this being moved to the Colt Mustang page. --Zackmann08 17:43, 8 July 2012 (CDT)
- By "DOA version" I meant that it gets rid of the safety and hammer and has a regular shaped trigger. Only reason I singled out the trigger guard thing is that this is the only difference between the Mustang and Pony that is not due to it being DAO (the pictured Pony has a different beavertail, but most Ponies have the same beavertail as the Mustang, the one pictured here is shortened). I would agree with putting this as a subsection on the Mustang page as it is a variant of it. It is also a fairly rare gun compared to the Mustang as it was only made for a couple of years (I think the Pony was discontinued along with the Mustang in 2000 not 1998 but the Mustang has since been brought back). --commando552 19:08, 8 July 2012 (CDT)
