I wonder how they could make M1A1's accept drum magazines? --Slon95 (talk) 10:00, 24 December 2015 (EST)
- Stick and drum magazines appear to be interchangeable on all versions of Thompson. Greg-Z (talk) 10:15, 24 December 2015 (EST)
- No, I think the M1 and M1A1 could only take box mags. And how would they attach the Cutts compensators? --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:42, 24 December 2015 (EST)
- This is not the first time that I see a highly modified M1A1 Thompson in French movie. They seem to have modified them, that they could accept the drum magazines. --Slon95 (talk) 11:09, 24 December 2015 (EST)
- They could've just milled off the channel that only allows magazines to be inserted from below. Drug mags have to be inserted from the side. Do these modified M1A1s actually fire? --Funkychinaman (talk) 11:35, 24 December 2015 (EST)

A close view of drum magazine used in M1 is in Ne nous fâchons pas. Greg-Z (talk) 12:28, 24 December 2015 (EST)
- About M1: "The slots adjoining the magazine well allowing use of a drum magazine were removed. " (Wikipedia). If it's a correct statement, then the moviemakers could modify magazine well without much problems to use drum magazines, thus adding Thompsons "mobster-style" outlook.
