Talk:Audie Murphy
Audie Murphy became an actor because his fame as a war hero propelled him into that line of work. He had very little formal education and Hollywood gave him a chance for economic prosperity. He was a war hero and an actor. The two "roles" are intertwined. He was one and the same from the end of the war until he was killed in a plane crash in 1971. The photo of him in uniform with his decorations seems appropriate. --Jcordell 04:23, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, but just a thought, this is a guns in FILM site, so I think that Audie Murphy the actor is what our focus is. Actor Eddie Albert was also a MOH winner at Tarawa, but I would want a shot of him from a movie or studio still or a personal shot during the height of their actor fame, rather than a portrait of him from the time BEFORE he was an actor. Just a thought. :D MoviePropMaster2008 05:10, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I see your point. What do you think of the new one? Little more appropriate? --Jcordell 15:24, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- I Like that one but both of them are quite good really.-Oliveira 16:32, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Decorations
However for those who may not be aware of Audie Murphy and his role in WW II. --Jcordell 16:17, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- I still think this photo would be appropriate since it shows people how much of a badass Murphy was and also shows all his decorations.-Oliveira 16:32, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
No big deal. I'm flexible and the nice thing about the discussion page is that one can still display photos that might not be quite right for the main page. It is a good photo though. I believe it was an official U.S. Army photo.--Jcordell 21:15, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
