Having looked into it, I think the tank is more likely to be the visually similar Centaur IV, rather than a Cromwell, based on the fact that film was shot in Portugal, and according to Wikipedia the country obtained around 24 Centaur IVs in 1945. Certainly the square profile muzzle break matches this preserved Centaur on display in Lisbon, one of six surviving vehicles in the country. The Portuguese Centaurs were replaced with the M-47 Paton in 1955, so one would easily have been available for the filming. Nick Cooper (talk) 14:15, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
