TOZ-36 - 7.62x38R V-1

The TOZ-36 is a Soviet target revolver, designed by Yefim Khaidurov and manufactured from 1962 to 1977. It is partly based on the Nagant M1895, but otherwise it is a completely different weapon (in particular, also somewhat inspired by Smith and Wesson Masterpiece), using its own ammunition (shooting from the TOZ-36 with a regular Nagant cartridge is strictly prohibited). The similar TOZ-49 uses the 7.62x26R cartridge. Both revolvers were widely used in various sporting contests, including the Olympic Games. In 1996, nearly twenty years after the production was discontinued, a new version appeared: the TOZ-96, a version of TOZ-49 chambered in .32 S&W Long.
