Suicide Squad is the 2016 feature film adaptation of the popular DC Comics series of the same name. The film centers around a special unit created covertly by the US government and codenamed "Task Force X", aka the "Suicide Squad", which is comprised of notorious "meta-human" criminals and assigned to take on impossible missions in exchange for reduced sentences on their crimes. The film was written and directed by David Ayer and the cast included Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne. The film is also part of the DC Extended Universe, which includes Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman.
A standalone sequel, The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn was released both theatrically and on HBO MAX in August of 2021.
The following weapons were used in the film Suicide Squad:
Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Will Smith) uses a heavily-customized Glock 17 fitted with a compensator made by ZEV, a flared magwell also from ZEV, and a Trijicon RMR red-dot sight.
The Glock 17 is used prominently in the film. Several police officers and US Navy SEALs, in addition to Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), carry unmodified Glock 17s. Deadshot also uses an unmodified Glock 17 while being tested in Belle Reve prison.
Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Will Smith) is seen holding and firing a Smith & Wesson SW1911 E-Series while being tested in Belle Reve prison. In the theatrical release it switched to a standard M1911A1, but this error was fixed in the DVD/Blu-Ray release.
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) carries an ornately-decorated Chiappa Rhino 60DS. The revolver has white grips inlaid with a gold Joker emblem, gold decoration on the barrel shorud, and the cylinder has alternating "Love"/"Hate" gold decoration. The revolver is also seen in the hands of Deadshot.
The Joker (Jared Leto) carries a custom Colt Gold Cup Trophy as his primary sidearm. It is heavily customized with a purple-finished slide and frame with all the other parts being gold plated, custom gold inlaid engravings on the flats of the slide and frame, and textured faux ivory grip panels with gold Joker emblems. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) also holds the Joker's custom pistol.
Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) carries a Heckler & Koch HK416A5 fitted with a Geissele Automatics 14.5 Super Modular Rail handguard. The rifle looks to be equipped with Gen 1 Magpul AFG, AN/PEQ-15 laser designator, and a Leupold Mark 6 1-6x20mm M6C1 rifle scope with an Aimpoint T2 Red Dot attached on the right side of the scope with a LaRue Tactical mount. A number of the Navy SEALs accompanying the Suicide Squad also have HK416A5s with 14.5" and 11.5" barrels.
Several of the US Navy SEALs and Special Forces soldiers who accompany the Suicide Squad including Lt. GQ Edwards (Scott Eastwood) can be seen with Mk 18 Mod 1 carbines fitted with various accessories. Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Will Smith) is seen loading up and firing a Mk 18 fitted with a Troy PDW stock, canted back up iron sights, and an EOTech XPS sight.
Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Will Smith) carries a custom AR-15. The rifle has a two-tone red and gold paintjob, has a red-painted Magpul CTR stock, and is fitted with a custom handguard and muzzle brake. The rifle is also fitted with an ACOG (with custom platinum finish) with a piggybacked Trijicon RMR sight (an Adjustable LED model), along with a vertical foregrip. Deadshot also uses customized magazines, which are red-painted Magpul PMAGs fitted with gold-finished TTI Firepower magazine extensions (these are replacement PMAG baseplates which increase the capacity of a 30-round magazine to 35 rounds).
Guards escorting Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), as well as an armed assailant wearing a Batman mask, are seen carrying M4A1 Carbines. Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) also uses an M4A1 Carbine during one scene. Joker (Jared Leto) and his henchmen carry M4A1s at the end of the film.
When Dr. Harleen Quinzel interviews the Joker at Arkham Asylum, a female guard can be seen armed with a Mossberg 590 shotgun with a high-capacity magazine tube.

Remington 870 (Folding Stock)
One of the drones transformed by the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) is seen carrying what appears to be a Remington 870 Folding Stock with the folding stock removed. Another also holds one with a solid stock and pistol grip.
A Dillon Aero M134 Minigun fitted with a DI Optical DCL-110 reflex sight with an AN/PEQ-15 laser module mounted on the side is seen mounted on a military helicopter and is used by Mr. Frost (Jim Parrack).
Deadshot (Will Smith) is also armed with dual wrist weapons called "wrist magnums" that are built from Glock 19 pistols. The props used in the film were designed and customized by Walter Klassen FX and Movie Armaments Group (this included "design work, CAD renderings, machining, assembly, finishing and powder coating"). New CNC-machined frames were created for the Glock 19s and the magazine release and ejection of the one mounted to Smith's right wrist were reversed so that the casings would be able to eject upwards. The blank-firing wrist guns were fully automatic, fired via a thumb trigger connected to a system involving air tubes, a pneumatic actuator, and regulated CO2 canisters hidden in the holstered Glock 18s on Smith's back. According to Walter Klassen FX employee Taku Dazai, firing them created a "rooster tail of fire" and a "huge plume of fire", plus they "sound insane". They are chambered in 9x19mm, due to the fact that they can be seen loaded with the magazines from Deadshot's Glock 18s.

The quotation etched on the sides, which also appears on the collar of Deadshot's t-shirt, and the barrel of his custom AR-15 rifle, appears to be an adaptation from the Bible, John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the light; no one comes to the Father but through Me".Error creating thumbnail: File missingDeadshot uses one of his wrist magnums during a job.Error creating thumbnail: File missingA close-up of Deadshot's left wrist magnum firing.Error creating thumbnail: File missingDeadshot fires his wrist magnums during a shootout in Midway City.Error creating thumbnail: File missingDeadshot uses his wrist magnums while in the Ostrander building.
When Floyd Lawton is tested on the range, there are an array of guns for him to use, including an M4A1, a H&K MK 23 with a suppressor, an MP5K with an UMP-style stock, a TDI Vector with the stock folded, an MP7A1, two Smith & Wesson Model 36s, a Beretta 92FS, a G36C with a full-size carry handle, a Glock 17, a Smith & Wesson M&P, two Beretta Px4 Storms, and an unidentified large-frame revolver.
In one scene, the Joker is seen lying amongst a collection of knives and firearms, which appear to contain many pistols including what appears to be an IWI X95 assault rifle, a full-sized Glock pistol (most likely a Glock 17), two compact-sized Glocks (most likely Glock 19s, one of which is fitted with a suppressor), two Beretta 92FS Inox handguns, among others.
