Serious Sam: Next Encounter (2004)

Serious Sam: Next Encounter is a console-exclusive version of Serious Sam that was released for the Nintendo GameCube and PS2. It was developed by Climax in 2004, during the time when Croteam was busy making Serious Sam 2. While the game has a different developer, the core gameplay elements are the same, following the good old recipe: assuming control of Sam "Serious" Stone as he battles his way through Mental's armies, mind-blowing weapons and bosses, plus demented jokes and references to the arch-rival Duke Nukem.

The following weapons can be seen in the game Serious Sam: Next Encounter:

Modified Desert Eagle Mark XIX

The default weapon in the game is a heavily modified Desert Eagle Mark XIX, fitted with a longer barrel with vent holes and an unused under-barrel rail. It is chambered in .50AE, and holds an impossible 12 rounds in its magazine. The "Desert Hawk" in the game is manufactured by a fictional company called "Shofield". Can be dual-wielded and has infinite ammunition.

Sam pulls the slide of the "Desert Hawk" to release it back after a reload. Apparently, the pistol lacks the slide release too.

Sam reloads his dual "Desert Hawk" pistols. The slides automatically lock back when a reload starts. Well, fans of the series don't like these games for the high level of realism, that's for sure.

Double Barreled Shotgun

The 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun is a powerful close range weapon with high damage and spread radius. Sam always fires both barrels at a time. It is one of the few weapons that must be reloaded in the game. The ammo cap is 100 shells. Appears as "Double-Barrel Shotgun" in the game.

IMI Micro Uzi

Dual Micro Uzis are usable automatic weapons with high ROF and terrible accuracy. The in-game Micro Uzis are also manufactured by the fictional company called "Shofield", utilizing their "spray and pray" technology. The Micro Uzis can fire Ricochet Bullets. The ammo cap is 1000 bullets. The game refers to them as "Dual Uzis".

Hand-held M134 Minigun

The "XM4000" is a highly modified GE M134 Minigun with a chainsaw-grip. It was re-chambered to fire 9x19mm bullets, and it shares ammo with the Micro Uzi. It can fire Homing Bullets.

"RAPTOR Sniper Rifle"

The RAPTOR Sniper Rifle is a heavily altered Steyr AUG with a large flash suppressor, an enormous trigger guard around the standard trigger guard (safety first) and variable-zoom telescope. It fires 16mm rounds.
