Rules of Engagement (2000)Rules of Engagement William Friedkin (The French Connection Samuel L. Jackson as USMC Colonel Terry Childers, who finds himself facing a court-martial after ordering his troops to open fire on a crowd of civilian protesters during the evacuation of the US embassy in Sana'a, Yemen. Tommy Lee Jones co-stars as Hayes Hodges, a soon to be retired Marine Colonel and JAG lawyer whom Childers saved in Vietnam and now who must defend him in court.

Handguns M1911A1 The M1911A1 appears in the film as the sidearm of then-Lieutenant Terry Childers (Samuel L. Jackson ) in Vietnam. Childers uses the M1911A1 to force NVA Colonel Binh Le Cao (Baoan Coleman ) to order his men to disengage after they ambush the U.S. Marines being led by then-Lieutenant Hayes Hodges (Tommy Lee Jones ).
