Ricochet Denzel Washington as Nick Styles, a former LAPD officer who became an ambitious city attorney after apprehending a notorious criminal (John Lithgow ) in an incident that happened to be caught on videotape. Styles then finds his life being secretly taken apart by the criminal after he escapes from prison. The film was directed by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander Ice-T and Kevin Pollak .
