Prisoner of the Mountains (original title Kavkazskiy plennik, Кавказский пленник, i.e. "Prisoner of the Caucasus") is a 1996 Russian war drama movie directed by Sergey Bodrov Sr. (A Yakuza's Daughter Never Cries) and starring Oleg Menshikov and Sergey Bodrov Jr..

In one scene a Russian soldier barters a Makarov PM for two bottles of vodka. Later the shopkeeper sells the pistol to an old Chechen.

Abdul-Murat (Jemal Sikharulidze) and his servant Hasan (Aleksandr Bureyev) both carry very battered single barreled shotguns that appear to be old IZh-KBs (modern versions of this shotgun are known as Baikal MP-18).

In the scene of ambush Sanya (Oleg Menshikov) uses an AKM. Due to continuity error it switches several times from standard AKM to the one with GP-25 underbarrel grenade launcher and back again. Many Chechen fighters are also armed with AKMs.
