Korovin PPK-41 - 7.62x25mm Tokarev

The Korovin Submachine Gun, also referred to as the PPK-41 (it never got an official designation), was designed by Sergey Korovin, better known for his TK pistol. It is a relatively simple submachine gun, mostly made from stamped steel with parts spot-welded together. The weapon was produced for a short time in Autumn 1941 in several factories in Tula and used only by the volunteers of the Tula Workers Regiment, who were fighting against the Wehrmacht troops on the outskirts of Tula. About 1,500 SMGs were produced.

The Korovin submachine gun is blowback operated, firing from an open-bolt in full-automatic mode only. The 35-round double-stack, double-feed box magazines are not compatible with later PPSh-41 box magazines.
