Oldboy

Oldboy is a 2003 South Korean mystery-thriller film. The film stars Choi Min-sik as Oh Dae-su, a man who finds himself kidnapped and cut off from the outside world for 15 years by an unknown captor. After suddenly being released, Dae-su embarks on a journey to track down and get his vengeance on the man who had arranged his capture as he finds himself still caught up in the middle of multiple conspiracies surrounding his affair. Oldboy was released outside of South Korea to widespread critical acclaim, earning the praise of director Quentin Tarantino at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival and being commended for its approach to the writing of its characters and action sequences.
